Chapter 3

Today Shila and Sonia went out shopping, Shila wore a black sleevless top and a white bum short with black all star sneekers with her brown hair layed with halve side frings, while Sonia wore a lazy sunday cream top and a knee lenght black sweat pant of gucci and a black and white Supra sneekers on her feet with her hair in two pigtails, with each tail on each shoulder, both having sun glasses on, after about an hour shopping they came out and headed to the car, on their way to the car, Sonia suddenly gave out a yelp almost dropping the shopping bags in both handa, "what" asked Shila concered alarmed, sonia hesitated for some seconds then stood straight and said "its just that sharp pain in my abdomain again", "this is it, am tell mama" said Shila, Sonia laughed and walked on, " am seriouse this about the seven time this week" complained shila walking after Sonia with her own Shopping bags which seem to be weighing her down, soon Sonia dropped off Shila and drove home since it was getting late, on driving home, she parked and came out when suddenly she felt that same pain again but this time around much more painful, she suddenly gave out a piercing scream and fell down with both hands on her abdomen, with blood from her mouth and nose, Around 2 in the morning a gynecologist, hematologist, urologist and a physician were inside a glass wall room, all on Sonia while her mum,  Shila's mum and Shila were outside waiting anxiously and sometimes peeping to see if they could see anything, through the transparent glass walls, but could only see the doctors round the bed each with a nose mask and a curtain blocking outsiders from seeing what they are doing. An hour later the four doctors came out from the room after offing the lights and taking of the curtain, "doctor, please" lamented Sasha admist tears again, "Mrs Smart. Your daughter is suffering from severe pains in her abdomen and the cause seems to be from her navel" said the male  older looking doctor, with the name Mr. Greg a physician, "what" chorused the three, "calm down, and unfortunately, for the past 37 years in this hospital, we have never come across anything like this" said another male doctor who was taller than all of them and seems to be in his early fifties with the name Mr.Louis a Urologist, "if we get you, since  you don't know anything about it, that means you can tackle it" asked Shila with her tear stained face looking at all four doctors, "well sort of" said a short chubby female doctor with the name Patricia a hematologist  "av had enough, am moving her out of the country" said Sasha angrly making to head to the room, but Patricia hurridley stopped her and said "trust us ma'am,  moving her out will do no good for now, without you knowing what is really wrong with her, you can't just start flying her out, and no one in this hospital will sign her out", "do you know, who you are dealing with here" asked Sasha with a glare,  "please ma'am pardon us but she is right" said Dr. Greg, "but Mrs. Smart has she ever had any problem with her navel" asked the young looking doctor who should be around 24 of age and a gynecologist , "no, why" said Sasha looking at the young doctor with the name kendrick, "please ma'am. Is important we know cause, unlike normal navels, your daughter's navel is now a hole, a deep one, which happens to be a affecting her large intestine for now but on the surface", "Sasha tell them what they need to know please" pleaded Aliya already panicking,  "well she once had a problem with it after six months of birth, it began bleeding, but the doctors saw to it and then it stopped that's all" said Sasha, "that is it" chorused all four doctors, and she nodded, "but, Sonia touches her navel" said Shila, "touches" asked Dr. Patricia, "um more like rubs and squeeze it" said Sasha sounding sceptic, "and like everytime" said Shila, "like she is addicted to it" said Sasha, "that explains it all, right now we have to know how to tackle it, thats why we will be keeping her till futher notice" said Dr Greg, "but will she be ok" asked Aliya, "ma'am am proud to say, you've got the best experienced, physician, hematologist, urologist and gynecologist on her case, so please trust us" said Dr patricia with full assurance, as the other three doctors nodded, with that they excused themselves and left. The next afternoon, Sasha, Aliya and Shila were already back to the hospital and back with needed items both ediable and non edable and were waiting with full anxiety for Sonia to wake up, they were still like that when Lexi and her mum Alisha came in, "she will be fine" said Alisha gently massaging Sasha's shoulders who seated on a chair by Sleeping Sonia, Sasha just let out a sigh and nodded, Saying "my baby is strong", " i miss her already" said Shila to Lexi as the two were seated on a two sitter sofa in the room, "yeah, hope she gets up soon" said Lexi with a sigh. Around 2pm Sonia stirred for about the twentieth time then finally let out a sneeze and Said "am hungry", to their delight and they all hurried to her side each, "you are awake" said Sasha hugging her, "hey mama" said Sonia with a smile, "glad am i" said Aliya hugging her too, Shila with excitment mean to hug her but was stopped by her own mother saying "she is still weak,don't crush her", "but mum you just hugged her" said Shila mouth agape, but she received a glare and she quit the protest, and already Lexi's mum has already served her food on a plate and passed it to her, "thanks ma" said Sonia as she began digging, " so whats wrong with me" she asked as soon as she finished eating, and to her shock they all kept quiet and were looking at eachother, "why are you all quiet" she asked starting to sound Alarm, "sweetie, the doctors... " just then Alisha was interruptted when the door was opened and Dr. Kendrick came in, with a white lap coat on him, and they all let out a sigh with the meaning, thank Goddness, to Sonia 's surprise which added to her curiosity, "good day, Mrs smart, Mrs Aladama, Mrs Brown, lexi and Shila" he said with a smile as he walked in, they all acknowledged him with smiles and hello, except for Sonia, who just watch as he walked to her an d sat down on the side of the bed she was on, "hey Sonia, am Dr. Kendrick a gynecologist, one of the doctors among the team on your case" he said in his calm voice with a smile also forwarding his hand for a shake and eyeing his hand but my patient and staffs call me  Kay , "you on my case, how old are" asked Sonia giving him the you are so ridiculous look, Her mum and Aliya shook their head with the meaning she will never see and keep quiet while Lexi and Shila chuckle, he smiled and said "clocked 24 last week", "oh sure you did, and what's the others age, like am i having bunch of twenties on my case" she asked with total dismay, "noo, am the only one among them" he quickly added, "what exactly is wrong with me, like you said my case" she asked rolling her eyes, "you have a naval disorder" said Kay, "meaning" she asked eyeing him, "it means, due to you touching it every now and then, it has now become a hole which has affected the surface of your large intestines and we still dont know how to tackle it coz it's, Something new and very rare to the health system but we are working on it and the condition you were in yesterday was very critical, that's why we will be keeping you here till futher notice " he said as her eyes were popped out in shock, " oh if i get you right, right now a gyne doctor of 24, is on a medical team which is on my case and the case happens to be something no one is familiar with, not only that i will be in this hospital in this room on this bed for aslong as you finish with me a.k.a till futher notice" she asked sounding sceptic and looking at him, he nodded with a smile, "i wanna speak to dad now" she suddenly in a demanding tone looking at her mum, "dear he is in a meeting  now" said Sasha, "i don't care, i wanna speak to him, i wont stay in this hospital like a prisoner" she said as she began to panic admist to tears, "no calm down sweety" said Shila's mum as she made to cuddle her, "no call him, am going out of here" she yelled pulling her body away, it was Kendrick that took both hands of hers and said "Sonia, sonia look at me, look at me" she then looked at him after little struggle, "good, i know it's hard for you, and so it's for us, but just trust me, just me and we will take care of you, we want you to get well that's all" he said in a soothing tone, which seems to melt her anger, "so do you trust me" he asked gently as they look at eachother in the eye, she then nodded slowly, "good, and Mr. B.m smart will be here tomorrow" he said, and she nodded again, he then gently laid down her hands, while she in turn laid back and let out a sigh, "thank you doctor" said Lexi, "oh it's nothing" he said, and some minutes later all of them were talking lively including Kendrick, in the they all left around 12 in the morning, as she was about to pull up the blanket to her upper body, the door opened, "knock knock knock" said Kendrick coming in with a smile and with a giant teady bear pink in colour, she let out a smile and laid back, as he walked in after closing the door behind him, he then placed the teady bear near her and pulled the blanket over unto her upper bodg with the teady bear and then sat down on the bedside, "say what aren't you going home or what" she asked looking at him, "no i will be monitoring you" he said with a smile, "more like you waiting to see if i will have an attack?" She asked raising an eyebrow, "yeah but not in this room" he quickly answered, "oh" she said with a smile, "it's late, get some sleep" he said and stood up and then headed out, "kay" she called as he reached the door, he stopped and turn, "are you always this nice to female patients" she asked, he gave a quiet chuckle and said, "no, you tend to be different", "why, coz of my parents or grandparents" she asked after letting out a sad sigh, 'oh, no not that, is just that you are special and different from all girls av met" he quickly said, 'you just spend some hours with me" she said, "yeah but i realized that, not at this time but when you were unconscious" he said, "wow, that's a sweet thing, thanks and good night kay, see more of you tomorrow" she said yawning, "he smiled and said see more of you too Sonia" with that he offed the lights and went out, and soon she was far asleep, while Kendrick stood by the glass window and watch as she sleeps peacefully, "are you going to stay up all night, watching her sleep" said a doctor about his age who was behind him, "i will do the same for lola, why not her" answered kendrick after letting out a sigh, "does she know" asked the other guy, "come on, jack, i just met her yesterday" said Kendrick, with a quiet chuckle, "well it will be better if you let her know who you see her as" said Jack patting Kay on the shoulder and then left, Kendrick turned and watch as she sleeps, then sighed and left.
