CHAPTER 4

For two months  now, after series of bad attacks Sonia had, and she herself looking white, pale and weak and with Larry and Kendrick not showing any sign to understand eachother, thou Larry seems to be hard going person, in the afternoon, as the room was filled up with Lexi, shila, Larry, Aliya, Alisha, Lexi's two brothers Dave and Karl, then Dollyn, Sam, kelvin, Gina with her twin daughters paula and poppy , then George with his wife and three kid, two boys Dennis and Edward  and a girl Tasha with their parents, then Sonia's parents and grandfather Scott, they all having a good time in the giant room, while uncle Garry's wife Aunt Lisa was gently massaging Sonia's feets to ease up the muscles coz she rarely walks due to pains it does cause her in her abdomain with each step she takes, making her walk only when it is crucial, thats when the four Doctors they were all familiar with came in, after pleasantries, Dr. Patricia spoke "we want to speak with the Adults in Dr.Greg's office, while Dr. Kendrick will talk to Sonia alone" their was some seconds quietness, when Sonia spoke up, "why do u i have the feeling this is not going to be good", "no dear, everything is going to be fine" said Dr.Louis in a soothing tone, "i don't like the sound of that either" said Sonia making a funny face making all of them laugh, "all right please adults follow us" said Dr Greg" and they all stood up and went out after almost all the mummies have given her either a peck, a gentle pat, or a gentle squeeze on the cheeks  on  seeing all of them out Larry quickly gave Sonia a kiss on the lip, "don't panic, you will be alright" he said, she inturn smiled and kissed him too, he then pecked her on the forehead and then turned to leave after glaring at Kendrick saying "i will be just outside"as usual Kendrick just shook his head with the same worried expression he came in with, on hearing the door close after Larry, he looked up to her and sat down beside her, while she wore a smiling face, he looked at her for almost a minute without saying anything , "say it, am gonna die" she asked with a curve smile, he smiled with a sigh and took her right hand, " why does he like to push through his damn limits" said Larry outside as he, Shila and Lexi were standing near eachother and watch as Kendrick took Sonia's hand" , while the rest of their age mate were just around, "he is her doctor" protested Shila, "can you for once be solidaristic" said Larry rolling his eyes, Lexi just chuckled, "pay me" said Shila sticking her tongue out at him, "always a kid" he muttered, "you remember the day you asked me if i am this caring to all my patients" asked Kendrick looking at Sonia with her hand still in his gentle grip,  and she gently nodded, "and i told you no, its just that you are special" he added, and she nodded, "well, her name was Lola, she was just like you, attitude, style everything but your fame , which she never mind, i loved her very much and was ready to give up everything for her, even when she  had leukemia, i wished more than million times to be the one with it not her but was what can i do but watch colour and light fade away from her face and at that time i was still in school, everybody gave up on her except me, not until i watch as life left her her smiling face" in coming to this part he looked at calm looking Sonia, and asked, "did you know who she was", Sonia shook  her head, "Lola Roger my halve sister of different mother" he said, "and when i saw you like her, i don't know what came over me but i vouched to keep you alive even thou i know its not in my power to do so, but i will try my best to do so, atleast i will feel am doing Lola some good, and i felt even if i never had a sister about your age faith will make me feel protective over you", "am sorry about Lola Kay, and even if you have never met me, i know she will be proud of you, coz of your good heart" said Sonia with a smile and placing her other free hand on his shoulder, "now see" said Larry as Sonia place her other hand on Kendrick, "quit whinnig"  said Shila rolling her eyes, "Sonia for two months now, our research yielded no fruit" he said taking both hands of hers, "meaning" she asked with a weak smile, "no result, we are still ignorant of your illness, with about nine symptoms you showed" he said, "just go ahead and tell me" she urged rather calmly, "but there is only a way to know what the real problem is" he said, "then apply it" she said, "no is not that easy, you see its an inducement called the hypercritical methodology, its meant to make all illiness in your body rise up and take control of your body, but the problem is if we scan you and see all illness in you, we dont know which will remain hidden to our eyes and knowledge and will surely take over your body system, and even if none is hidden we dont know which will take over your body and in the process can cause you death and even if no death occurs one of the illness can cause you to be traumatized and that can make you be  comatose permanently or paralys or even stroke" he said admist to tears, and at that time all the adults with the doctors were already out with long faces, and some like Sasha admist to tears, then they told the rest outside about the same thing Kendrick was telling Sonia, "on hearing this Sonia leaned back after gently removing her hands from his, "you are saying with this inducement my chance of survival is not even fifty fifty is more like 90 : 10" she said sadly, and he slowly nodded, "wow" she quietly said with a sigh, "but you have a choice to make, if you will be induced or not" he quickly added, she gave a sad chuckle "is that suppose to make feel better, i mean it makes no difference Kay, if i agreed to go for it, the chances of me surving are little or more like none, and am just sixteen i still want to grow, i should be scared of death, but for me not to go for it what's the difference, i mean i will be getting worse and each worsen state brings me closer to death if nothing is done not to talk of we all not knowing the attack that will be for my death, i don't know Kay, am confuse" she said more like sounding scared, "just be courageous" he said as tears run down his cheeks, "i don't know, i don't know if i have the courage to make this descion" she finaly  said trying to take back her tears, " you have too" he said, just when Larry came in and walked up to her, followed by the rest, she looked at his tear stained face she tried smiling but he quickly hugged her, then her mum came to her other side, and gently hugged her, "mum, i don't know, but am now scared" said Sonia admist to tears, "courage dear heart courage" said her mum in tears too as Sonia cries on her mums body, just when she went numb and limb, on noticing this her mum shook her panicking, and Sonia started convulsing with blood from her mouth and nose, as they were all in panic Kendrick already pressed the alarm button on to alert the other three doctors, they spend almost an hour before they stopped the bleeding and then convulsion, when she weakly opened her eyes breathing heavily through through the oxygen and slowly and weakly streched her hand towards Larry, he quickly took it and sat down near her, she then gently place both hands on her stomach and then slept off and that's how the two past the night, in the morning, She woke up and found Larry's head by he her side and her his hand in hers, she smiled and gently brushed his hair, which made him quickly woke up and raised his head to meet her smiling, he then pecked her, "I don't know what and how you gonna do it but, if at all i mean anything to you, don't agree to the inducement" he said, "i can't remember telling we will talk on this" she said with a slight frown, "i know, just promise me" he said taking her face on his palms, she looked at him in the eyes and then nodded, "i love you" he said hugging her, "me too" she said, some minutes later the same set of people and more were around, when the doctors came in and asked her if she wants to be induced, she sighed with a smile and then looking at Larry, she said "no not for now", "but Miss.., "she has made her decision, respect it" said Kendrick interrupting Mr.Louis, Mr.Louis regarded all of them for some seconds and then said "fine" with that he went out and the other doctors excused themselves and went out, after Kendrick gave Sonia a nod and a smile which she returned with a smile to, after they went out, Dolly quickly came uo to her and hugged her loudly saying, "good decision, at least we are halve at ease" making everyone laugh, "yeah, am surprise she didn't play the strong headed adamant girl she is" said karl giving her a high five, and they all continued the rest of the day happily, "you look tensed up Louis" said Patricia as they followed him to his office,  "you all know she doesn't stand a chance either this way" he said fumming in anger, "Its her decision" said Kendrick, "what do you know, as far as i am concern you are love sick" fired Louis, "no, don't go about accusing the boy" said Greg, "i don't care" he said and went out of the office. A month later with her stable condition thou she does have an attack , in the afternoon, as she was alone with Larry, Shila while  Lexi was out on a date, Sonia and Larry were on the bed he was at her back while she leans on him, as he puts his hands round her as he shows her pictures on on his I phone 6 plus, when he decided to go and get something leaving the phone with her, he kissed her and left, then she continued scrolling on, when suddenly a chat message pop out on the screen, with the name lilly and it said hey Can we chat now am horny, Sonia was taken aback and soon found herself Scrolling the whole chat between Larry and the girl, which she found out to be dirty and even nudes she does send him, just when he came in looking happy but was shocked to see Sonia's eyes red in anger, "you are disgusting" she said just when Shila noticed Sonia's face, "what's wrong" asked Shila standing up to get to Sonia who was now breathing heavily, but Larry was already there and had already saw the chat, he dropped the phone, and took Sonia's face saying, "babe no, i can explain, no just listen" "get o..ut n.ow" she said in between breaths and she started convulsing and bleeding , Shila who has already read the chats pushed him away saying, "hands of her" with that she said pressing the alarm button, Shila held onto her in tears  as Larry tries to hold her but was always pushed by Shila who was crying, in some seconds the doctors came in, and were soon on her after making Shila and Larry go out, "Its not fair" she said Looking at him, "oh please Shila, her health first" he said sounding frustrated, "just what ever the outcome of this is, you are at fault" she yelled and turned away in tears, almost an hour later, Sonia's mum met them outside and without asking she just gave a sigh and watch as the doctors battle on her daughter, this is almost like a scene watched for for over hundred times, "oh my dearest" she said almost in tears as she watch, some minutes later they came out and motion to them to enter, just like usual, her mum was the first to enter and quickly hugged her Sonia in turn started crying on her mother which was unsual for her, because she always plays strong after each breakdown, Sasha didn't think of anything but maybe it's depression, while Shila and Larry knew why she was crying, soon she feel asleep and oxygen mask was placed on her face as she sleeps, and to everyone's surprise Sonia became so quiet and always in tears, she only talks to Her mum, Shila and Kenrick, And whenever Larry wants to talk to her she closes her eyes and turn away, everyone except for Shila, Lexi and Larry knew why she has suddenly changed while the rest all though it was just depression.
