"Henry...we need to talk." I said quietly. He looked down. "Did I do something bad?" He asked, I shook my head, tears formed in my eyes. Emma looked over. "Well, do you want me to explain?" She asked I nodded trying not to blink and let the tears escape. "Henry, you know how your mom has to go to see me at the hospital a lot?" He nodded frantically. "Well that is because your mom is poorly. Okay?" He shook his head. "Why is she poorly?" He asked, Emma looked at me. "We don't know, Hen." I whispered, salty tears slid down my face. "Why don't you give mommy some medicine?" He asked Emma. She looked down. "It isn't that simple, I want your mom to get better, but we don't know how to help." He leaned over and hugged me. By now I was shaking and crying uncontrollably. "Kid, just go and play upstairs for a while." He nodded and he let go of me. After he had run upstairs, Emma leant in and held me against her chest. "You're okay, just breathe, okay Gina? Just breathe." She whispered, she kissed my hair and then leant her face against my head. She kept whispering to me softly until I fell asleep against her chest, that was moving slowly, and I felt her heart beat in time with mine.
I woke up at about 6:27. "Hey." Emma muttered moving her arm from around my shoulders. "Hey." I said, my voice thick with sleep. "Where's Henry?" I ask, she nods towards the kitchen. "He's eating his pizza, on one of those barstool things." She said. "Have you eaten?" I ask, she shakes her head. "Why not?" I ask, she shrugs. "I didn't want to wake you, so I ordered in, in my name." She explains. "Let me pay you back." I say, reaching for my purse. "No." She laughs. I grab a twenty and hand it to her. He folds her arms and refuses to take it. I lean over so my face is hovering above hers, and stare into her eyes, I feel her breath on my cheek. I reach for the neck of her white shirt and shove the twenty down her top before laughing hysterically and running away. She rolls her eyes and looks slightly disappointed as she takes the twenty and shoves it into her pocket. She gets up and sits next to Henry on a barstool, I offer her a slice of pizza. She gladly accepts as we share the rest of the pizza. Before long, it was eight. I helped Henry into his pajamas and tucked him in, before heading back downstairs. "Do you want me to get out now?" Emma asked I shook my head. "No, but if you want to go, I understand." She shook her head. "I'll stay for a while." I smiled and sat on the sofa. Emma came and sat beside me. "Do you want a drink?" I ask. She shrugs. "What of?" She asks, I smirk. "Well we have coffee, tea, cocoa, squash, milk, water, wine, beer and WKD." She smiled. "Whatever you'll have, I'll have." She laughed. I smirked and went into the kitchen, I poured two shots and two WKD's. I called her in. She ran inside and laughed. "Seriously, Regina? Alcohol? Given your condition..." She trailed off. I laughed. "Emma, I suffer from cancer not nunism." She laughed loudly. "Nunism?" I laughed and took a sip of the WKD. She smiled and finished both shots. "Hey! One of those were mine!" I exclaimed laughing.
