Chapter 16 (Living It Up)

I sat up, immediately intrigued. "What did you book?" I asked her she smiled and put her finger to her lips. "Shh, its a secret." She said, in a whisper-shout voice. I laughed and noticed henry, wearing his tiny converse, a plain blue shirt with white stars on and a pair of three quarter length jeans. She smiled at me then showed me the car keys, dangling from her index finger. I smiled and snatched them, I tan to the car, with Henry and Emma chasing me, laughing wildly. I was so lost in the moment, so hysterical, so alive, I forgot I was dying. I forgot I was loosing myself, and everyone around me. I jumped into the passenger seat, and coughed, for a while, until a few specs of blood fell onto the steering wheel. "Are you okay to drive or should I?" I heard Emma ask, I shook my head. "I'm fine." I said, she nodded. "So where are we going?" I ask her, she smiles. "To meet my parents." She said, my mind immediately exploded. "W-what?" I ask, she laughs. "I'm an orphan, calm down." She explains. I laugh. "No, first we're going to water world." She said, I nodded and started the engine.

When we arrived, I began to get out the car but Emma shook her head. She got out the car and lifted Henry out. She held his hand and walked up to a guy with dark hair in a blue shirt. She let go of his hand and he immediately dived onto the stranger and hugged them. Emma walked back up to the car and sat down in the passenger seat. "Who did you leave my son with?" I asked her, she smiled. "My brother, but relax, Henry stayed with him a lot during those three months." She explained. I nodded and she waved to her brother. He waved back and she turned to look at me. "Now, for our surprise date. I'm driving." She said, I nodded and got out of the car. She did the same and we swapped sides, as soon as she had done her seatbelt she began to drive. Slightly scared, I asked, "Where are you taking me?" She laughed and didn't answer. "Okay, so what are we going to do?" I asked, again she ignored me. My chest began to burn. My chest felt as if it was on fire, I began to cough. Few droplets of blood dropped onto my chin. "Sorry." I said. She shook her head. "Don't apologise." She said softly.

We pulled up at a restaurant, and she motioned for me to take my seatbelt off. Then she got out the drivers side and ran to the boot. She took something out and opened my side of the car. I stepped out to see a wheelchair at my feet. I stared at out for a while then looked at Emma. "You'll need it soon, because you're getting weaker." She explained, so I nodded and sat in it. She smiled and started to push the chair. "Am I too heavy?" I asked cautiously. "No." She laughed. I smiled and put my hands on the arm rest. "Are we going to the restaurant?" I asked, she shook her head. "No." I frowned but didn't speak. She pushed me to the top of the hill that we parked on and put the brakes on the chair. She helped me out and we sat on the grass. "So?" I said awkwardly. "So...?" She repeated. "After....After I'm gone, don't feel too bad." I said, she looked at me with tears brimming in her eyes. "How can I not be upset?" Just remember that you were the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and I want you to be happy, wherever I am." She nodded and helped me back into the chair and wheeled me to the car to go to get Henry.
