His dragon was gonna turn human and have blue and white hair. I was excited.

*Ignore the notes to myself near the end of it, I try to remind myself that I forgot to add in certain things.*

Everything was dark.

I sprinted through the forest, determined to get away from the horrid place I'd grown up in. My village was an unforgiving one. One that judged, that accused, that destroyed.

And the longer I stayed there. The faster I'd be destroyed.

It was almost dead silent in the forest. The only noises around me were my own heavy breathing and the loud crunch of the leaves as I ran. After a couple of hours, my limbs started to feel like jelly, and I tried to slow down to a walk. Gasping for air, I fell to the ground as my legs gave out. I felt a stab of pain in my one of my legs, and I cried out in pain. Adrenaline was running through my veins, my heart was beating like crazy, and I desperately tried to catch my breath. I remained on my hands and knees for what felt like hours before I finally gave out, collapsing onto the ground with a muffled, “Umf.”

The ground seemed so welcoming. So soft and warm...comfortable, too. I couldn't help but let my eyes slide shut and sleep wash over me.

“Jedediah!” I heard my mother call out, waking me up from my dreamless sleep. I groaned in pain as I sat up, running a hand through my now tangled up hair.

“Mother?” I grumbled, squinting slightly as I saw her figure a couple hundred feet away. Oh, shit. She'd found me. I scrambled up from my position on the ground and took off running, only to regret it instantly. A sharp pain rose up in my left leg, and I winced, stumbling slightly as I continued to try and run. I didn't know if Mother'd seen me or not, but I sure as heck didn't care if she did.

I ran away for a reason, and not even she could make me go back to that Hell.

I half limped, half sprinted as far as my body would allow me before I collapsed against a tree. I leaned back, my head resting against the tree as I took in a deep breath. My cloak was ripped and tattered, and my trousers were dirty...

I didn't know how long I'd last out here. I should've at least brought a spare change of clothes. Or some food, for that matter.

I took in a shaky breath, knowing that I should've planned this out more. But how could I? It was an instant thing. I just decided I should runaway, and within the next second, I did.

I closed my eyes to rest, and as the pain in my leg continued to throb, I found myself unabled to. Reopening my eyes, I looked around me, my gaze landing on an oddly colored stone.

Or at least, I thought it was a stone. I studied it from where I sat, finally determining that it wasn't just a stone. No rock could be the exact color of blood. I slowly got up, cursing under my breath as I made my way to the mysterious object. The second I bent down and picked it up, it started to glow. A bright white glow was surrounded it, and I held in my breath in awe. It was...beautiful, in a way.

I turned it around in my hands, looking over every inch of it just as it started to shake. I kept my grip on it tight, and as I held it, it started to crack, the white glow becoming brighter and brighter the more it cracked. All at once, it broke apart, shattering into a million microscopic pieces, and I cried out in shock, almost dropping the thing that remained sitting in the palm of my hand.

A sharp and high pitched noise rang out, and I squeezed my eyes shut in fear. Right after, a small chirp-like noise sounded, and I slowly opened my eyes, staring at the thing in my hands.
