I looked over at Dr. Chapman and she seemed to really be into my story. She almost looked like she was in a trance.

"Now that was a quick rundown on how we met and how we started dating. Shall I continue to go on?"

"Let's just call this a wrap for today's session and continue it on Monday at the same time. Is that alright with you Dahlia?"

"Yes, that is fine and Monday I will have my King with me," I said to her humorously.

"Great. You are locked in."

I got up to walk out the office and she stopped me in my tracks.

"Before you leave out I want to have a word with you on record if you don't mind."

"Sure. No problem." I sat back down to hear what she had to say.

"I noticed as you were telling your story that you show for sure signs of anxiety disorder. Your left leg shook the entire time you spoke and your right arm was restless."

"Oh wow. Anxiety Disorder? Are you sure about that??"

"Mrs. Morris I know anxiety when I see anxiety. Do not forget that I am not only a Family Psychotherapist but I am also a Holistic Therapist. I want to make a suggestion to you. No pressure but it is a highly recommended form of relief."

"What is your suggestion, Dr. Chapman? I am listening."

"Well, Mrs. Morris - Excuse me I mean Dahlia. One suggestion is for you try breathing in lavender oil."

"Lavender Oil?? Wow, I never heard of that method before."

"Yes, Lavender Oil. Here takes this paper and pen to take notes as I give instructions."

"Thank you."

"First, try taking a hot bath with 15-20 drops of lavender oil with some Epsom Salt. Soak in the bath for at least 30 minutes and no less than 15 minutes. This method will draw out all the toxins and relieve any stress that is on your mind.

If you are not the "bath type of person" try dropping a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow at night before bed. That will help you rest easier and decrease your anxiety levels tremendously.

You can also put boiling water into a cup, add 8-10 drops of lavender oil to the cup and inhale the vapors for a quick relief.

Another lavender magic trick is Lavender Oil massages. Allow your husband to massage you down with lavender oil. Lavender Oil massages have been proven to lower the systolic pressure that is associated with stress. You can also try drinking Chamomile Tea. The chemicals in that tea promote relaxation.

Another method is widely used in yoga. Hold your breath but not until you're about to pass out. You simply can't be anxious and do deep breathing at the same time so you can try this out: It's called 4-7-8 Breathe! Exhale completely through your mouth and then inhale through your nose on a 4 count. Are you following me?"

"Yes, I am. Please continue."

"Great. After you inhale through your nose four times, hold your breath and slowly count to seven. When you reach seven let it out slowly through your mouth eight times. You might want to try this twice to get maximum results."

"Wow, I never tried the 4-7-8 Breathe technique. I will definitely try these methods out."

"Write out your results so we can go over it on Monday. I just don't want to see your anxiety turn for the worse Dahlia. See you on Monday?

"Yes, definitely! Thank you for your time and advice."

"My pleasure."

As I left out of that office all I could think about was getting home to my husband to tell him how everything went at our first therapy session. Anxiety Disorder? I am not even surprised that she diagnosed me with Anxiety issues. I have to get this under control before it takes control of my life. When I tell Hassan this he is going to call it BS - I know that he is. He also isn't going to be too thrilled about the woman's husband not being there either. He complained about the cost of therapy but agreed to do it but did not show up. Sometimes I don't understand that man.
