A Werewolf's Desire

Chapter Eight

Reigna pulls me to her chest and I snuggle closer to her.
"What are you going to do? You can't go to war just because of me." I say, my voice muffled since my face is still pressed to her.
"I can and I will," Reigna spoke up, her voice booming.
"The Fang Pack seem to have a problem with my mate, as you all know they are all sexist and believe males should always be the dominant one. Just because we aren't like them they want war. Will you follow me through war? Will you stand behind me for the sake of your Luna? I know I'm asking a lot of you, but will you stick with me?" After Reigna's voice dies down everyone started shouting, all of the pack members saying they would stand behind their Alpha and Luna no matter what.

Later when we were in Reigna's room I ask her what has been nagging at me since earlier," Why are people willing to die for me?"
She turns to face me and takes my hands in hers," Because your their Luna and my mate."
"But they don't even know me." I argue.
"Sweetheart, they will and they're not just fighting for you they're fighting for our future as a pack. I've been their Alpha for a while and I've been good to them, they worry that if they got a new Alpha if they would still be treated as well as they are, you've got to think about it from their perspective. Would you want some Alpha to come and start bossing you around?"
I stare at her for a second and then I realise just how close we are, I can feel her warm breath and smell her sweet scent. I had been too worried to notice before, but I can feel tingles running up my arms creating a warmth in my stomach that makes it hard for me to sit still. My gaze drifts down her face to her lips which are pink and look soft. Unconsciously I lick my lips and lean in a little.
"Zane?" Reigna says uncertainly and a bit breathlessly, which wasn't a normal thing for her but I kinda liked it. When I lean impossibly close Reigna smirks making my face flush but this time I don't pull away. Finally, I uncertainly touch my lips to hers, she lets go of my hands to thread her fingers in my hair. Her lips are so soft and full that I can't contain the moan that I let out. She pulls back resting her forehead on mine.
"That was...amazing." I croak out.
"You finally admit you want me?" Reigna says hoarsly, smirking.
"Go to sleep." I say pushing her away from me and pulling the covers over my body.
"But how am I going to go to sleep now when all I can do is think about you?" She asks me and I turn to where I'm facing her. I roll my eyes at her and repeat myself in a softer tone.
"Go to sleep."
Reigna heaves a sigh,"Fine." She says and makes a move as to turn facing away from me, but instead quickly pulls me to her.
"Reigna." I whine squirming from the feel of her body pressed against mine.
"Go to sleep." She says imitating me, smirking. Finally I relax my stiff posture into her. I go to sleep listening to the sound of her heart beat.
