Chapter 12

Today it has been two years since Luna died. Usually, I go missing for the entire day, But this year is different. I have a new family and I will do everything in my power to keep them from dying.

I needed to clear my mind today at 2 am. Bad idea. Any thought or idea is dangerous after 2 am. I decided to go surfing in the dark. I surf till I got hungry which was around 2 pm. Then surf till I got stung by a jellyfish. The only thing I know to do if you get stung by one is to pee on it. Well that is just a myth.

I go back home to get my stuff and put up my board, then head to the cave. I walk in to hear the words "Hot Date" from Red. I see Kaldur in the middle of the room. In looks at me in surprise. Wally probably told everyone I wasn't going today. I smile and give him a hug and kiss.

"I was told you wouldn't be in today." He says. I smirk and take off my brace that was barely on because the sting is swelling.

"Well you see Mr. Fishy, I got stung by a jellyfish." He goes to touch it but I hit his arm away. "Don't touch it, it hurts if you do."

"You need to get the swelling down. Let me see what type got you." He reaches again and I pull away sticking my tongue at him.

"I will take some Advil and call it good." I say as I walk away. Once I get the pill bottle, the new challenge is opening it with one hand. I start to bang it on random things. I hear a chuckle from the door way. I look up to see Kaldur. He takes the bottle from me and opens it. He gives me two pills. I swallow them dry and try to put my brace on.

"You are being stubborn today." He helps me put on the brace. "How are you doing today?"

I look up at him with a sad smile.

"I'm not missing yet. Lets go see the team." He gives me a hug and we go see the team. We see them working on Conner's bike.

"Torque wrench." M'gann hands it to him. "Thank you, Greencheecks."

"I have been meaning to ask. Any problems with juggling schoolwork with your responsibilities here?" Kaldur asks them. Conner just says no.

"Juggling's just one of my many talents." Wally grins. I scoff. "What talents."

"Hey! Rude!" He shoot back.

"Study is now easier with Willow going to the same school as me. Daily cheerleading practice has presented a challenge. Oh, but my first loyalty is always to the team. This team, not the bumblebees." M'gann says. I now go to school with M'gann and Conner. Kaldur has convinced me to try in school. Who knew I would be good at it.

"Artemis starts school today. Do you think she will have trouble maintaining her loyalties?" Kaldur asks. Why would he question her?

"Nah, she'll manage alright. I mean how more hostile and annoying-" Wally starts to say but is cut off by a explosion. Before we could get over the shock we were attacking by a wave. Wally and Conner got taken out fast. Kaldur and M'gann were put in a cage all of the sudden. Just like that I was the last one standing. This can't happen again. Not after Luna. I hid behind a corner. I took out my phone trying to get a message to Robin, but a fireball knocked it out of my hands.

I look over to see a female Red Tornado. I threw her into the wall. Never knew Red had family.

"Stand down Menace." I let my guard down thinking that was Red Tornado. That was a mistake. I was put in a ball of water trying to find my breather. (A/N I have no what those are called.)

I was thrown into a wall knocking me out.

"Kaldur is Willow okay?" I hear Wally shout through the darkness. I groan and open my eyes.
