Falling for the Enemy by Tara S. Lyall aka marvel_mockingjays

How do you picture a villain?

Do you see a classic bad guy lurking in the shadows? Maybe a mad scientist conducting evil experiments?

Most people make villains out to be evil and corrupt, and while that may be true for many of them, some are just misunderstood, or have a good reason for their bad choices

Most people make villains out to be evil and corrupt, and while that may be true for many of them, some are just misunderstood, or have a good reason for their bad choices. Their perspectives are rarely seen in movies or books, as it is a challenge to present these types of characters without using cliches.

Falling for the Enemy brings a fresh plot to the table by telling the story of Lillian Nightshade, SHIELD's most wanted assassin. Though perceived as a deadly criminal, all Lilly wants to do is settle down with her best friend so they can escape their life of crime and start over. All seems to go to plan, until Lillian's last job lands her a death wish from HYDRA, and she must team up with SHIELD to protect the things she loves the most. She tells herself it's only temporary, but finds herself slowly falling in love with none other than Captain America. Drama, intense obstacles, and an epic love story and adventure ensue.

While at first it may seem like the average bad guy-superhero romance book, Falling for the Enemy is far from mediocre

While at first it may seem like the average bad guy-superhero romance book, Falling for the Enemy is far from mediocre. The story is full of heartbreak, tragedy, surprising plot twists, and shows that love is something you work hard to have and keep. In fact, a recurring theme in the book is how difficult loving someone can be. Falling for the Enemy also contains elements of loss, greed, and destruction, but a light sense of humor balances the depressing themes throughout the book. The book offers a very great opportunity to read something that is well written, but also has dark themes to it, presenting an almost perfect read for a mature audience.

As suggested by the cover and its title, the story revolves around the romance of a supervillain and a superhero, total opposites. While that may be an instant turn-off for some readers, don't be fooled! This book is suitable for a wide range of viewers. Falling for the Enemy contains all the epic battles and suspense that thrill-seekers enjoy. And, for readers searching for a story that actually captures the personalities of canon characters, look no further, because both original and canon characters are extremely realistic and lovable.

The book is great for readers just getting into the Avengers fandom, and is beautifully written so all types of Marvel fans- old or new - will enjoy it! Be aware that it will take you all night to finish it because you won't be able to put it down. So, if you're in need of an exciting and addicting read, check out Falling for the Enemy at Marvel Mockingjays' page (don't forget to read the sequel or her other works if you enjoy it!).
