Dodie's POV

It was 4:00 in the evening. I was lay on my bed, trying to focus on my breathing. Emma said she was going to talk to Luke today and I hadn't heard anything from her since 10:00am. I was worried sick.

Suddenly, my phone started ringing. My face lit up and I scrambled over to the kitchen to get it. I saw Emma's name on the screen and a thousand butterflies filled my stomach. I picked it up anxiously.

"Hey babe" Emma sounded exhausted. "Hi. How did it go?" I asked, twirling my hair around my finger.
"Not great. He started crying and of course that set me off. I hope he'll be ok, I'm such a heartbreaker."
"Aww no!" I replied "You know this isn't your fault Emma." There was a short pause before she spoke:
"It kinda seems like it. Anyway, I got to go. I'll talk to you soon."
"Ok," I said, a small smile growing on my face. "Love you. Bye."
"Love you too Dodie."

The call ended and I exhaled deeply. It felt wrong. I was tearing a relationship apart. I knew it was far too late anyway.
