The Million Duvat Endeavor *OPEN*

Introduction

Saralee Relasay Arystenn, Queen of Lessaenes, sat on a bench in the quiet, secluded Royal Garden. She turned her head, hearing the sound of footsteps nearing her. Soon, she was joined by Chief Selaeyah Valior of the Scientist Clan. 

"I have good news," Selaeyah beamed. "My clan has just finished doing this year's accounts. It appears that we have a budget surplus of a million duvats!" 

"Did you factor in the cost of all of Icicle Hall's new gold fixtures?" The Queen inquired. 

"Yes!" Selaeyah nodded. "What would you like to do with the money? Shall we go on vacation?" 

"No..." Saralee mused. "We do that all the time. I'd like to spend this money on something special. How about...a contest?" 

"A contest?" Selaeyah frowned. "What kind of contest?" 

"A million duvats is nothing to us, but it's a fortune to the average citizen. We could give people a chance to try and win our extra money! It'll be sure to create a nice media buzz." 

"Wonderful idea!" Selaeyah clapped her hands together. "What shall we call our contest?" 

"Let's call it the Million Duvat Endeavor! It has a nice ring to it, don't you think?" 

"Yes, yes indeed. How will we choose our participants?" 

"We'll select the first twenty who apply. It's as simple as that," Saralee shrugged. "Oh, and, the bottom two scorers will be killed." 

"What!?" Selaeyah gasped. 

"What's a competition without a bit of risk?" The Queen grinned evilly. 

"True, true," Selaeyah agreed. "Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's make the announcement!"
