Final Results

Almost all of Lessaenes seemed to have gathered in Glaisse's warmatch arena for the announcement of the winner of the Million Duvat Endeavor. The five contestants along with the Queen and the Scientist Chief stood in the highest balcony, surrounded by cameras and a frantic crowd.

"Welcome, all, to the closing ceremony of the Million Duvat Endeavor!" The Queen pronounced. "Now, I'm not going to waste your time or mine. Let's get straight to what we're all here for...the results!"

The audience cheered as she began to read from her Aurascreen.

"In fifth place, we have Adrian Karrski with thirty five points!"

Adrian descended the steps to receive her medal from Chief Valior, looking visibly disappointed.

"In fourth place, Eloni Sempta with __ points!" The Queen declared.

Eloni's shoulders dropped as she trudged away from the balcony.

"In third place, Eristalle Akerri with 54 points!"

Eristalle's eyes lit up. Achieving a rank in the top three was not an easy feat.

"However, we do not have a second place winner," the Queen sighed. The audience went silent with confusion as soon as they heard the alarming announcement.

"That is because this competition ended...with a tie! Let's hear it for the co-champions of the Million Duvat Endeavor, Blayze Lesatia and Celynne Varr, both with a score of 59.5! Each will receive a prize of five hundred thousand duvats."

An uproar was instantly heard throughout the arena.

Of course, the Queen thought. How typical of her spoiled people.

Lessaenites did not like ties. They wanted to see a winner.

"But, don't worry," Saralee put her hands up defensively. "This is not the end! Selaeyah and I have arranged for a final round of competition to break the tie. In this round, there will be no bonuses. The highest scorer wins, it's as simple as that. However, either one of you can forfeit now and accept the position of second place. Keep in mind that your assignment will be very difficult, and the loser will have a very high chance of dying. Would either of you like to forfeit?"
