Chapter 1

7 years later

Ariel's P.O.V-

"Mommy" I heard Eric shout as I made breakfast.

"Yeah?"

"My feet feel weird" He says coming in.

I looked down at his feet and chuckled.

"You put them on the wrong way" I say.

"Oh" He says giggling.

"Go sit on the couch and fix it" I say.

"Ok" He says before running out.

Sigh.

It's been a stressful 7 years raising Eric on my own without Michael. Eric and I have visited him frequently and we're about to visit him now. Michael had less than a year till he comes out of jail and I was getting more and more impatient.

"Mommy" Eric says coming back with the shoes put on correctly.

"Yes honey?" I ask.

"When is daddy coming to live with us?" He asks.

"Very soon" I say. "Then you can show him how you can ride your bike"

"Then we can ride together" Eric says.

"Yeah" I say smiling. "Here have breakfast"

I placed his bowl of cereal in front of him when my phone rang. I looked and saw it was Gemma and smiled before answering it.

"Hey Gem what's up?" I ask.

"Well, I just made out with Alexis" She says. "Ass grabbing and everything"

I sigh. "When are you going to stop giving me details I don't care about?"

"When we're both dead" She says laughing. "But hey I'm back from Dubai"

"That's great" I say. "How was it?"

"Amazing and hot" She says. "I'm tanned all over"

"Yeah I saw some pictures on Facebook" I say wiping Eric's face with tissue.

"Anyways what's up?" She asks.

"Eric and I are going to see Michael"

"Ah I haven't seen Mikey in years" Gemma says. "Maybe we can both go like next week or something"

"Yeah I'll ask Mike" I say.

"And how are you doing?" She asks.

"Tired" I say. "Working in the university is stressful but hey working in a lab is pretty awesome"

"I'm sure it is" She says. "And how's Eric doing?"

"He's good, wanna speak to him?"

"Yes please"

"Eric, aunty Gemma is on the phone" I say.

I give him the phone.

"Hi Aunty Gem" Eric says enthusiastically.

I smile leaving him to speak whilst I packed my bag with Eric's toys and some snacks.

I walked back into the kitchen and Eric gave me the phone.

"Ok Gemma I'll see you later" I say.

"Alright see ya" She says.

I hung up before putting my phone in my pocket before taking Eric's empty bowl and putting it in the sink.

"Alright, Eric are you ready?" I ask.

"Yes mommy" He says as his green eyes twinkled.

I grabbed his hand as we walked out of the house. I looked next door and saw the house was now sold. Mr Harries died two years ago and I couldn't be happier. He was annoying- yes it wasn't his fault he got struck by lightning killing him- but he had it coming.

I take Eric to the car before driving to the prison.

We arrive at the prison and I grabbed my things before going inside.

"Hello Ariel" Dave, the secretary says. "Nice to see you again"

"You too" I say. "Save hi Eric"

"Hello" Eric mumbles shyly hiding behind my leg.

"Here are two badges for you and Eric" Dave says.

"Thanks Dave" I say placing the badge on Eric and I before walking to the tables.

"Let's sit on this table" Eric says running to the table we always sit at.

I sit down next to him before taking his jacket off and placing it in the bag.

"Are you excited to see Daddy?" I ask.

"Yup" Eric says. "I'm going to show him my drawing"

Just then there was a buzzer noise and my stomach flipped. I always got excited seeing him.

The gate opened and the prisoners came inside and I smile as Mikey came inside and headed to us.

"Daddy" Eric shouts before running up to him and hugging him.

"Hey buddy" Mikey says carrying him before putting him down and heading to the table.

Mikey sits down and Eric sits next to him and Mikey looks at me.

"Hello" He says smiling at me.

I take a look at his appearance. He has more stubble as well as his natural blonde hair showing.

"Hi there"
