Chapter 2

Ariel's P.O.V

"How are you?" Mikey asks playing with my hands.

"I'm good just wish you can come home now" I say.

"Yeah me too" He sighs. "Getting tired of seeing the same four walls every second for the past 7 years"

"You have less than a year maybe you can come out early or something" I say. "Maybe plead your case of something"

Mikey chuckles. "You've been watching Law and Order haven't you?"

"It's now my favourite show" I say. "It's really good"

"I'm sure it is" He says. "I don't know if I can plead my case or not; I have to ask the guards or whatever"

I nod. "Right"

"Daddy do you like it?" Eric asks holding up the picture he's been drawing for the past 5 minutes.

"Yeah buddy that's a pretty cool tree" Mikey says.

Eric frowns and I laugh.

"What? Is it not a tree?" Mikey asks.

"It's a swing from the playground" Eric says.

"Oh" Mikey says. "I knew that"

I laugh. "Sure you did"

"Guess he's got my talent in drawing" He mumbles.

"So how's everyone?" Mikey asks.

"Ah so Gemma's back from Dubai and she wants to see you, we were thinking next week" I say.

"Sure I would love to see her"

"Calum is engaged to Sophie" I say. "We're both invited to the wedding"

"I'm not sure Sophie would want to see me" He says.

"Nah she's moved on trust me" I say. "Oh and Mr Harries funeral was yesterday"

"Did you go?" He asks.

"No way" I say. "I mean I didn't like the guy and we were never friends and he hated me"

He chuckles. "Remember when he saw my penis"

"Daddy bad word" Eric says frowning.

"Sorry bud" Mikey says before looking at me. "Totally forgot he was there"

I roll my eyes "You'll totally win father of the year"

"Hardee har" 

"Dad I can ride a bike" Eric shouts excitedly.

"Wow that's so cool" Mikey says laughing. "You will have to teach me"

"Mommy said I can show you when you come home" Eric says. "When are you coming home daddy?"

Mikey sighs before smiling. "Very soon bud then we can eat ice-cream and have fun together"

Eric nods excitedly making his brown hair bounce.

"Why don't you finish your drawing for daddy?" I tell Eric.

He grabs another colouring pencil before violently colouring the top of the page in blue.

"Yup he definitely has your art skills" I say laughing.

He chuckles and I touch his hair.

"I can't wait for you to get out" I say. "Like I'm getting more and more impatient you don't understand"

Mikey nods. "I understand but hey at least you can actually out and do shit"

"Daddy!" Eric scowls. "Bad word"

"Sorry Eric I'll stop now" Mikey says. "You've taught him well"

"I know"  I reply. "Anyways, don't you get to go out of your cell?"

"Yeah but it's always the same place and Flanagan's gone and everyone else is either annoying or crazy" He whines. "Sometimes at night they are always shouting in Klingon or something"

I laugh. "Wow"

Mikey holds both my hands. "When I get out I want us to get married straight away and live in peace with our son and just be a family. I want to put all this behind us and start again"

I smile. "That's exactly what I want"

Just then the buzzer went off and I sighed.

"It's like the time is getting shorter every time" I say.

Mikey chuckles. "Just a few months babe"

I get up and hug him tight before kissing him.

"I love you so much" He says.

"Love you too" I say. "Eric say bye to daddy"

"Bye daddy" Eric says hugging him.

Mikey smiles and kissed the top of Eric's head "Bye Eric I'll see you later"

"Wait here" Eric says giving him the drawing.

"This is so cool" Mikey says. "I'll keep it on my wall"

"Clifford time to go" The guard says.

"I'll see you next week" I say. "Love you"

"Love you too mermaid" Mikey says winking before walking off.

I smile before looking at Eric.

"Time to go home honey" I say picking up my bag and walking out with Eric.

I grabbed the badges and give them to Dave before walking to the car.

We arrive back home and Eric runs to the door as I get my bag out.

"Hi there" A voice says.

I looked next door and saw a middle aged lady standing there smiling.

"Uh hi" I say smiling.

"We're your new neighbours" She says. "Well my husband is inside somewhere"

"Oh hi" I say. "I didn't know you were moving in today"

"Yeah we wanted to get started" She says. "Hi I'm Beth Washington"

"Ariel Clifford" I say smiling. "Welcome to the neighbourhood"

"Thank you" She says. "Well I'm going to continue packing see you later"

I give her a friendly smile before walking into the house.

So now it's a married couple I live next door to. Maybe this time we'll get along.
