Time seems to slow down as I tell him about what happened these past months. He doesn't speak much as I explain. Once I am done he just nods and puts the pad of paper and pencil in a pocket. He gets up and looks at me." You'll get a call soon about the case's situation, but until then, I would recommend looking behind your back." He says and walks to the front door. I quickly follow him as he opens the door and steps out." Wait that's all your going to do?" I say." For now yes, you'll have to wait till we find out who we're facing here." He says, turns, and head towards the car." So there's nothing protecting me from these guys who could come back any second!" I shout after him as he gets into his stupid car." Like I said before, we have to see who we're dealing with." He says and then drives off before I could say another word. I storm inside and sit on the couch. I hear a creak around the corner and I quickly get up quietly and press myself against the wall. I slowly peek around the corner to find a drunk aunt slowly making her way towards me." Are you kidding me I thought you were the burglars who tried to kill me!" I shout and help her towards the couch as she murmurs " a hamburger sounds delicious. Get the donkey one too! Extra chocolate!". I sigh and realise it was hopeless to try and talk to her when she is this drunk. I lead her to her bed and end up having to tuck her in.

Once in my own bed its 1:40 in the morning and I sigh. I pull at the covers as a car drives by, casting a shadow in the room. I know the me a few months ago wouldn't have pulled the covers over her head because she saw a shadow. It bothers how much I've changed and how skittish I've become. I jump at the slightest of sounds. I wish I could have superpowers to help me but since I am a merely a human I can't be that awesome. I hate who I've become. Always thinking their coming for me and now I always have to watch my back. This absolutely stinks. Maybe I should take some self defence classes. And with that thought I let go of the real world and dive into the dream one.

I'm standing in a forest and are in a flowing olive green dress with brown leggings. I see a dear a few paces away staring at me. I  watch as it suddenly runs away from me, I then hear a rumble. I turn and see a black cloud of birds flying my way. I instantly run in the way the dear did. The trees blur around me as my feet hit the mossy forest floor. I can hear them getting closer and closer. I push myself to go faster and I then feel a sting on my arm. I then see a black feather fly past. Then another and another till I'm being pelted with feathers, slicing into my skin. I run faster and end up at the bank of a river. I look behind me to see beady black eyes heading my way and I start crossing the river.

The water stings my cut up legs as I cross as fast as possible. I feel feathers brush against my cheek and see birds swarm me. I feel myself leave the water a lifted into the air. I thrash as they lift me higher till I'm high above the forest. I feel them part and I fall, air rushing past me. I scream in terror as I see the forest coming closer till I hit the trees.

I bolt up and push the covers off and check for cuts and I let a puff of air as I calm down. I run a hand through my hair and collapse back into bed. I look at the clock and see it's only 2:13 and groan. It's gonna be a long night.
