"Keep running" I thought to myself as I sprinted through the town of Magnolia in the dead of night. I could hear the grunts and growls of the ice wolves as they neared me. They seemed to have a lot more energy left than I did, so I'd have to find a way to get them off my trail. I saw the flag I've been looking for the entire night; it's strange guild sign flashing as it lightly rippled in the wind. This is my chance. Since the wolves could freeze my water (one of the reasons why I was unable to fight back against them) I could use the wall of the guild hall as my leverage to encase them in their own ice, keeping them frozen until daylight hit. Once the members of the guild woke up, they'd be able to defeat the ice wolves. I heard the guild, Fairy Tail I believe it was called, had a Fire Dragon Slayer member. He would be able to kill off the wolves, since as far as I know, fire was the only way they could be defeated. I neared the large building, jumping as far as I could on the wall. I climbed as quickly as my tired body could, reaching the top with some struggling. I quickly looked over the town, trying to find my exceed, Poppy. I saw her flying a distance away, ready to call for help if I was near death. No matter how much I begged her not to do that if it ever came to that, she said she'd refuse to sit by without doing anything. She had dark purple fur with lighter purple around her paws making her look like she has gloves and socks on. "I have to make this quick, I don't have much time left before daybreak" I mumbled to myself. I felt the water practically rushing through my veins. With slow, yet slightly rushed hand movements, I created a large stream of water, which currently curled itself around me. I waited for the right moment, watching the wolves begin to scale the wall, their paws freezing to the stone almost like suction cups. The leader of the pack was getting pretty close, but I continued to stay patient. I glared down at him, waiting to attack. As his snapping jaw almost got to my foot, I shot the water down at him. The minute it hit him, it started to freeze. Working quickly, I shot more of the stream towards the rest of the pack, freezing all of them. I felt bad, leaving a frozen river with ice dogs inside of it on the side of the guild hall, but I knew they'd be able to deal with it easily. By the time I finished, Poppy had flown over to me.

"I don't know why you won't ask them for help instead of raiding them of their food supply and leaving them to clean up the wolves" Poppy muttered. At this point I had snuck into the guild hall, and was in their kitchen, stuffing as much food in my grey backpack as I could.
"Because, Poppy, what if they found it too troublesome? What if they kicked me out and I had to continue running until the pack found me? We can't trust anyone, Pop. We'll just end up getting betrayed and killed." I whispered the last part. Poppy gave me a sympathetic look. Both of us knew why I had trust issues, but neither of us understood why they were so bad. I've never been betrayed by those closest to me, but our village was the reason that dark guild found out about my adoptive parents and I. They betrayed my family in hopes of getting money from the dark guild. Although if I had never stayed with my adoptive parents, they wouldn't have been killed in the first place. I'm not saying it's my fault, because I didn't know any better, but if I had at least left my family a year ago, when I turned 16, they wouldn't have been killed. I shook my head, I couldn't concentrate on the past right now. I had to focus on getting food and getting out of here. I heard a creek in the floor steps, my movements stopping short. I quickly stuffed the apple in my hand into my backpack, creating a small ball of air, hoping to simply knock my opponent down. I didn't want to harm anyone in this guild, because I felt bad enough with what I was already doing. The last thing I wanted to do was hurt any of them. I saw a small blue cat waddle into the kitchen.
"Natsuuu~ I know you eat a lot, but what are you doing up so early?" The blue furball slurred slightly due to still being half asleep. I realized the cat hadn't registered that we were intruders, not this Natsu dude, so I used that to my advantage. I quickly pushed the exceed across the guild floor with my air ball, causing some sleepy yet alarmed yelps from him. I grabbed my backpack and sprinted for the door, knowing that Poppy was following behind me.
"Wait!" I heard the blue furball call. I paused, quickly turning to look at him.
"I'm really sorry! I made sure I didn't hurt you, I just didn't want you to get trampled when I ran" I whisper yelled, hoping he'd understand at least a little bit.
"Rin-" Poppy started, getting cut off as I whipped my head back to the door to find someone standing at the entrance. "Shit" I thought. Now I'm going to have to fight to get out.
