"I Have A Surprise"

A MONTH LATER

Izzy still wasn't awake. Demi spends most of the day at the hospital. Joe and Demi are on good terms. They are friends and Demi decided that Izzy needs her father in her life, of course when she wakes up. Joe spends a lot of time at the hospital as well. Joe wants Demi back but he doesn't want to rush things. So her's okay with being friend zoned, for now.

DEMI's P.O.V.

I looked at the door when I heard someone open it. It was Joe. He walked over to where I was, beside my daughter's bed.

"Hey, umm....brought a drink for you" He said

"Thanks" I said and took the drink from him. I took a sip and looked at him.

"Sweetheart, please wake up soon" Joe said and kissed Izzy on the forehead. I felt a tear roll down my cheeks. But I quickly wiped it.

"Wanna go get some lunch?" Joe asked

"Not really hungry..." I said and heard Joe sigh

"Demi, you haven't eaten all day...you gotta be hungry" Joe said

"But I'm not....."

"Mommy....." I heard a small voice say. I turned to Izzy and saw her staring at us.

"Oh My God, Izzy! You're awake!" I said as I rushed to her bed and hugged her tight!

"Mommy.......?" She said again as tears kept rolling down my cheeks. Those were happy tears.

"Honey, Umm...You were asleep for a long time. But now you're awake! I missed you soooo much. I love you, Izzy...so much. I'm never leaving you, ever again. I love you." I said as I hugged my baby girl as tightly as possible. I looked at Joe and He just stood there awkwardly with tears rolling down his cheeks as well. I've never seen him cry. He's too strong for tears. But when it comes to your loved ones, Your heart is too weak for them.

"I love you too, mommy. But who's he?" Izzy said

"He's uh---" I was debating on whether to say who Joe was now or later. She just woke up. I think we should give her some type before telling her about her father.

"I'm uh- a friend of your mother and I love you very much. I'm really glad you're awake" Joe probably understood what I was thinking. I gave him a small smile.

"I'll call the doctor" Joe said and I nodded, tears were still streaming down my cheeks. I just got my baby girl back!

THE NEXT DAY

I was now sitting on our kitchen counter watching Izzy draw. They released her this morning. They kept her overnight to make sure everything was okay.

I'm so glad to have Izzy back. The past month has been hell without her. Joe didn't show up this morning. I've tried his phone, but no answer. It was just me and Miley at the hospital.I still didn't tell Izzy who Joe was. I'm not sure if Joe wants to be in her life yet. His not showing up makes me doubt If he's wants to be a father to her. But it's whatever. If Joe wants to, I'm fine with it. If he doesn't, who needs him anyway? For the last three years, I've been a Mother and a father to Izzy. It won't change anything if he doesn't want to be involved.
