I woke up feeling a bit energetic. Today is Saturday,

It’s cleaning day for us.

I put on my glasses and went down the stairs.

“Miki, can you accompany your Mama to the mall? I have to fix our sink, can you do it?”Papa’s voice echoed from the kitchen.

I sighed.

I have lesser time to clean my room.

But I have to do it.

I am a home buddy so I don’t like going out.

But it’s Papa’s request.

            “..................................Yes Papa!”

I got my sweater and my sandals. Mama was already waiting at the door. Uh.. yeah, Mama usually shops the whole day... and that spells...

In capital letters.

BOREDOM.

“Okay Honey, we’ll be buying lots of stuff today, first we need to go and buy some nice and affordable curtain, then new pillow cases, the gold ones, and then next we’ll be your, mine and Papa’s pajamas, a new soap that I saw in the TV commercial yesterday evening and...”

I groaned.

“Mama, do you have the list?”

She quickly nodded and showed her the paper.

Oh my. How can we buy this in just one day?

We roamed around the mall, It’s really cold, good thing I brought my sweater with me.  I just followed my Mama around; I brought the plastic bags of course.

Today, Time is so slow.

And Mama too.

We went inside a department store, I saw something that caught my eye. It was a white blouse with a black ribbon.

I walked slowly to it, awed by its simplicity. Mama wasn’t looking, she was talking to a salesman as she picks a blouse for her.

Wow. This blouse is so beautiful.

Looking at the blouse, I saw the price tag, five thousand. What.

I gazed at it for five minutes until someone from behind tapped my shoulder. “Honey, do you like that?”

                        “No... Mama.. I don’t...”

This is the most ridiculous price I ever saw. For just one blouse?

                        “Are you sure?”

I nodded quickly,

There’s no way that i can get an expensive blouse like that, and I won’t ask mama to but it for me... It’s my month’s allowance. I don’t need it anyway.

We continued walking, I was following Mama careful not to lose sight of her, The last time that I did, I had to announce it through the mall’s assistance desk just to let her know where I am. I don’t want to get lost again.

Mama suddenly stopped.

“Honey, do you want to try on some contact lenses? You’re glasses seemed difficult to wear now,”

“Mama, I’m fine with my glasses, you don’t need to spend---”

“Honey, That’s what I hear from you everytime, we’re going in that store,” Mama told me and dragged me inside.

“My.. This looks perfect on you,” Mama beamed with a smile at me.

I looked at myself on the mirror. I have no eyeglasses now. It feels different

My eyes hurt. My tears are falling nonstop. And I’m not comfortable. I need my glasses back.

I looked at Mama,

She’s smiling and saying all nice things to the saleslady.

“We’ll take that,” she said without hesitation, without even asking me.

I wiped my non-emotional tears and sighed. I must surpass the training on how to wear this. I already got my motivation, my Mama’s smile,

We continued to walk around the mall until my legs were numb. Mama stopped when she noticed that the mall will close after 10 minutes.

I think I won’t be able to go to school the day after... My legs...i can’t feel it anymore...
