Rome

Since I came home earlier, Candace has had the biggest attitude with me. I know I was wrong for not coming home last night but I apologized. What else does she want from me? I decided to give her a little bit of space. It'd be best for me to talk to her when she calms her nerves.

I was outside playing basketball on the outdoor court when I saw my dad come out. I looked at him before continuing to practice my free throws. I had nothing to say to this dude.

"Rome." My dad spoke as he walked onto the court.

"Richard." I replied, still shooting my free throws.

"I know you're upset with me but-" He started to say before I cut him off.

"Man why is you here?" I turned to face him. "I thought you would've been gone by now."

"I thought about what happened last night. I don't want to lose you as a son. I was being selfish. If Candace truly makes you happy, then I need to accept that. I'm sorry about how I reacted." My dad told me.

"Why the sudden change of heart?" I questioned, looking on at him skeptically.

"I want my son in my life. That's the only way that I can describe it." He said as I nodded my head in agreement.

"Alright.. Let's just drop." I sighed.

"I'm going to talk to Candace too. She deserves an apology." My dad said to my surprise.

"Do what you gotta do." I shrugged before my dad went inside of the house.

I was still skeptical about my dad's sudden change of heart. I wasn't about to stress about that shit right now though. All I could really do was forgive him and move on. My main concern at the moment is talking to Candace. I hate when she's upset with me. I need to make this right.

I quickly walked inside of the house and headed upstairs to the bedroom where I knew Candace would be. I walked inside to see Candace sitting on the bed with her laptop.

"Baby..." I said as I laid down next to her. "You still mad at me?"

"Yes." She mumbled, keeping her focus on the computer screen.
