The echoes from the fallen contents of the grocery store hung in the air. My bow was in was in shooting position. I felt the sound of my hair slapping against my back and the beating of my heart could be heard from a mile away. I started to back out of the grocery store cautiously.

I made sure I didn't step on any glass or bumped into anything that would make to much noise. My back was to the the exit of the store. Making sure whoever was inside didn't shoot me before I got out. That's when I heard the hissing sound of one of them...no two...wait three. I panicked. They were all coming for me. I whipped my head around. Shooting one instantly in the head. Blood spattered everywhere. Then I pulled out a second arrow out of my quiver and shot the second one down with a small grunt. Then I heard a boom. The third one was down. Not by my arrow. But by a gun. The same gun I now heard click. The same gun I knew was pointed at my head without me having to look back.

(His POV)

She stood frozen about 20 feet in front of me. She slowly pointed her bow at the ground and took one step forward. I have never seen anyone out here before. It was so strange talking out loud here. "Stop right there." I said cautiously. She stopped. "Put your bow and quiver down. Then turn around and face me with your hands up." She stopped and slowly and followed my command. Then she turned around. She was about my age. Long light brown wavy hair. She was shorter then me, but not by much. She was looking down. Slowly she picked up her head. I kept my gun in hand, pointed at her head. I gripped it tightly thinking it would fall right out of my hands. It was freezing outside and my hands were sweaty. I have encountered people before. Why was I getting nervous? "What's your name?" I said loud enough for her to hear. "Jordan." she mumbled. "Well Jordan. Can I come over and talk to you? I just want to ask you a few questions." She stayed silent. Her lips were pressed together. Her cheeks and nose bright red from the cold. Her eyes were a sparkly ocean blue that could be seen from a mile away. They were almost distracting. She then nodded. As I went to put my gun away leaving my eyes from hers for a second. I heard the patter of her boots against the street running away into the woods. She was quick. She ran not even bothering to put her quiver on her back. I fumbled with my gun a bit and fired up into the air just to scare her. I was running vigorously after her. I don't know why I felt the necessity to chase her. Why would a teenage girl be out here by herself? Why isn't she dead already? Is she by herself? She was a pretty good shot with her bow. Maybe she could be valuable back at home. I started catching up. That's when I jumped on to her and pinned her to the ground.
