A few tears roll down my cheeks.

"I thought that this would be a family trip, but this is the most family-like we've done so far," says Mel, and a few tears hit her leggings. She's right... This is the only thing we've done together... alone.

"Mel... I'm really sorry that I have failed you," I say and she looks up at me. Her eyes are full of tears, like mine.

"I'm so sorry, but having to look after you all the time, is still a little new, and I know I can do better. Can you forgive me?" I ask. She smiles and nods. I put down my ice cream cup and hugs her. "Thank you," I say, taking a pack kleenex up and hand Mel paper. She dries her eyes and polishes her nose.

"Wanna get going?" I ask, and she nods. We find a trash can and I throw our garbage away. I take the map out of my bag.

"Where are we going now?" asks Mel. Now we've seen most of what I wanted, so why not let Mel choose?

"Where do you want to go?" I ask and she shrugs.

"Is there a toy store somewhere?" she asks and looks down at the map. I take out my phone.

"I can ask Joe? If it's okay with you?" I ask, and she nods eagerly. I type my code and waiting impatiently for it to unlock. My phone is not the fastest. In fact, it is god damn slow and the only reason I bought it was because of the design. iPhone 4s my ass! I find Joe's number and click on it. I hear two of those 'bip' sounds and then hear Joe's voice: "Did you already get lost, love?" he jokes and I laugh.

"No... I just need your help. Mel really wants to visit a toy shop. Do you know where there's a good one?" I ask and I put a tuft of hair behind my ears.

"Uhm... There's one called 'Hamleys' close to The Apple Store on Regent Street. Haven't been in there, but it looks pretty big." Joe says.

"Thanks." I say and end the conversation with Joe. I tell Mel, where the toy store is and we quickly find it on the map. Regent Street is really far away from where we are. About five kilometers!

"I think we need to go back to the metro," I say and we walk together down the same stairs, that we walked earlier.

About fifteen minutes later we are again up in the fresh air. We are at Oxford Circus station and I try to figure out which way we should go. I see no street sign, but I hope we are the right place.

"Let's go... This way," I say, pointing to the right. We go further down the street and pass many shops, that we also have in Denmark, which Mel has no problem telling me. After walking for awhile, I see a flag further down the street, where it says 'Hamleys' with large gold letters.

"Mel, look. It's right down there." I say and I can see in her face, that she's excited. The building is really tall and there are the so many people outside. And it is not much different inside. The store is spread over five floors, where one of them is located in the basement, but it is known just a section of video games, so I do not expect us to go there. We start with an overview of the store. There is a department for video games, girls, boys, candy and LEGO at the top.

After being in the store for an hour, I'm becoming quite tired of all the people. They are everywhere and it is not easy to get past them. Mel has in the meantime found a thing she would like to have, and I think that we can afford it. She found a little teddy bear, dressed as a soldier who beats a drum. It was very sweet and relatively inexpensive, compared with some of the other stuff. She also gets to mix a bag of candy, and finally, we go down to the ground floor where we pay. The lady behind the counter is an old and friendly woman. She even gives Mel a free lollipop.

We go a little away from the store, just so we don't block the way for the other people. I take out my phone, to check the time. It is almost three and I also see that I have six missed calls from Joe.

"Imma have to call Joe again," I explain. Mel nods and doesn't seem to care if I have, to be honest. I click on his name and it rings.

"Helloooo?" Joe says in a funny way, that makes me laugh.

"Hey. You called me?" I say. Mel and I start walking back towards Oxford Circus station, so we can get home.

"Oh! Yeah... I was just," He stops, when he gets a coughing fit, but continues shortly: "Sorry. Can you call me when you get home?" I raise an eyebrow and don't understand why we can't just talk now.

"You called me to ask if I could call you later?" I ask with a hint of irritation in his voice. He laughs and I think, he can see that it's a bit silly.

"Ever heard of texting?" I joke and he laughs.

"Alright, alright. I get it. I'm stupid, it wouldn't be the first or the last time. So, can you call me?" he asks. I shrug and nods.

"Yeah, sure," I say and we end the call.

"That didn't take very long," Mel says and looks up at me. I shrug.

"I would rather be with you." I lie. Inside I know that it's wrong to lie to her, but rather make her happy than sad.
