Chapter 9
"So Ali, what do your parents do for a living?" Johanna asked me. We were all eating dinner, and it was nice. I don't honestly remember the last family dinner I was apart of.
"Other than trying to live my life for me, they're doctors." I said.
"Oh, that's very interesting."
"I guess. That rumour about doctors being snobs is true, by the way. At least in my parents' case." Louis chuckled, making me smile.
"I get it. I work in a hospital and there's several doctors there that are just....outrageously pompous." I chuckled that time. "So how exactly did you two meet?"
"We were both late for school. Traffic jam, there was a wreck, and I guess we both got caught behind it." Louis said. Maybe his mum doesn't know about him skipping?
"I wouldn't have been if my friend hadn't convinced me to wear jeans that are so tight it takes thirty minutes to get them on." I added. That's truthful. I wouldn't have been late if it hadn't been for those stupid skinny jeans.
"Well, the school has this stupid new policy where they lock the doors and there's no way to get them open until lunch. So we just sort of hung out outside of the school. After a while, we went to the park." It's almost scary how easily he's lying to his mum.
"Mum, you should hear the people around school." Lottie said. "They're all obsessed with Ali."
"Which is really creepy." Fizzy said.
"I agree with you there." I said, making everyone laugh. "I mean seriously, you'd think that the novelty would've worn off by now. I'm just a person."
"An amazing person." Louis said. I blushed softly, looking down.
Louis didn't really know how unamazing I actually was. I was just ordinary....especially compared to him. He's perfect in every meaning of the word.
At times, I felt almost like this was a dream. It was impossible for someone to fall this hard and this fast for another person. It wasn't logical for it to happen this quickly. It wasn't healthy.
But all the while it was. It was perfectly logical. It was perfectly healthy. Because it was Louis I feel for. And everything made sense when he was around.
I leaned over to him and kissed his cheek softly. It was always these signs of affection I wanted to be able to have. The gentle kiss of the cheek, the connection of hands. Even the slightest things I always wanted. And I had them with Louis. Even though I had only known him for a few days.
Louis took my hand in his, making the waves of excitement and happiness roll through my body. The overall spark of electricity soon followed. I knew, not by experience but by hearsay, that this doesn't happen all the time. So I know Louis is a once in a lifetime deal. I know how much I love him, and how much he loves me. I wish I could say it wasn't love at first sight, because that sounds superficial, but it was love at first sight.
"What is going on in that pretty little head of yours?" That question rang through my mind all the time. It would drive me insane eventually. I knew it would. But I would be a happy insane person, as long as I had Louis. Does that make sense? Eh I really don't care.
"I hate to have to run, but the hospital just called. One of the surgeons needs a hand." Johanna said. "Lou can you watch your sisters? Make sure they get to bed on time and such?"
"Of course, mum." We all stood up, the girls going off
"Thank you, love. Ali, you're welcome to stay as long as you'd like. Just please, no funny business." I went scarlet.
"O-of c-course not. I don't...I wouldn't...I'm just gonna shut up now." I said quickly. Louis chuckled again.
"Don't worry mum. Everything's under control." He said, kissing her cheek giving her a hug before she left. I smiled softly at him.
I wrapped my arms around him, holding him close. Closing my eyes, I rested my head on his shoulder.
"So your family turned their back on you?" I whispered.
"My mum and my sisters are the only family that talks to me." He whispered back. "The rest of my family hates me."
"I'm sorry baby." I said. "I will love you unconditionally."
"Katy Perry lyrics, really?"
"You know Katy Perry lyrics, really?"
"Tusche." He said playfully.
"BUBBY! PHOEBE WON'T GIVE ME THE BARBIE DOLL!" Daisy shouted as she walked into the room. He groaned softly.
"Go tell her that if she doesn't give it back she's going to have to stand in the corner." She nodded and ran off. I laughed quite loudly.
"What?"
"Standing in the corner was the punishments I used to get. I used to fall asleep standing there, then I'd end up falling. My mum always thought it was to get out of the corner. It was just because I can fall asleep anywhere."
"You're so odd." He said, kissing the back of my neck. "But you're mine." He whispered, kissing my shoulder. "Mine and nobody else's." A kiss to my other shoulder.
"Of c-course." I whispered, stuttering a bit. This felt amazing, and I'd have him do it all day if I could, but we had to watch his sisters.
"I love you. So so much. I knew it from the moment I saw you." He told me. "C'mon. Lets go watch them."
He will never stop amazing me.
