Morning classes passed by so slowly. The students kept staring at me. Some even came and checked for bruises and cuts.
The teacher went on and on about the royal family, and how there were some crazy kings hundred years ago. She even said how they married their cousins to keep the bloodline pure. All I could think about is how PureBlood families in Harry Potter must do that. Marry their cousins to keep out any "dirty blood". Yeah I'm not very good at paying attention.
The only good thing was that Louis was in most of my classes. I kept turning back to look at him, and he'd make funny faces at me. I giggled softly, and he'd flash me a smile.
As soon as the bell for lunch rang, Louis and I walked directly out the front doors. We could open them since we were on the outside. I rummaged in my bag for my keys.
"So back to mine right?" I asked.
"Yeah. So can we start doing whatever I want when we get there?" He asked, giving me a cheeky grin.
"No. Tomorrow we will." I laughed softly, kissing his now pouting lips. "Oh crap I have to go to the store."
"Want me to go with you?"
"Nah it's fine I can-" I began.
"I'm coming with you." He cut me off. I cocked my eyebrow. "Everyone needs to know not to mess with you."
"Louis, I've gone to the store by myself and no-"
"Just stop arguing. You aren't going alone."
I was taken aback. What was that about? I can handle myself. Surely he must know that, right? I mean I'm eighteen years old. I must be able to take care of myself properlyto make it this far.
But Louis doesn't see it that way.
I don't quite understand it. What would happen to me at Tesco? I just had to go pick up a few things. I wouldn't even be in there for ten minutes.
"So I guess we can just go to mine, then you can get in my car." I suggested. He nodded. I smiled slightly.
"Babe, I didn't mean to upset you. You'll understand one day." I nodded slowly. I really hope I'll understand. Because right now I'm really confused.
Louis smiled softly at me then kissed me. I kissed back as relief washed over me. Something about the way we touched made me stop wondering. It made me stop worrying. It made me feel safe.
So we parted and I got into my car. I buckled up (cause you know, safety first), and pulled out of the parking lot. I looked in my rearview and saw Louis following closely behind me. I smiled softly then focused back on the road.
I don't quite understand him. He can be blunt at times, then so sweet at others. Eh, I'll get used to it. Plus I quite like it. Not being able to read him like he's a book. It makes everything a lot more fun.
It's only a few minutes before I'm pulling into my driveway. I saw Louis directly behind me. Thank god it's a circular driveway. He dismounted his bike, then walked over to my Range Rover. He got in the passenger seat, immediately putting his hand on my thigh. My heart beat increased to an abnormal speed. I could hear it thumping wildly against my chest. And I was fairly sure he could too, because he rubbed it slightly.
I tried to slow it, but I didn't do a very good job. I still felt its erratic beat pounding against my chest. He chuckled softly.
"Quite excited, aren't you?"
"You can hear my heartbeat?"
"Baby, people in Australia can hear it." He called me baby. I smiled broadly. He looked over at me and smiled that irresistible smile.
We arrived at Tesco around thirty minutes later. It took my twenty minutes to get out of my driveway. Why? Because when Louis flashed that smile I snogged the hell out of him. I am not ashamed to admit it either. Hell, I unbuckled my seat belt, climbed over to him, and straddled him. Then snogged him. It made him really happy, if you catch my drift.
So when we did get to Tesco, there were some really suspicious looking guys. Louis told me to stay in the car. I didn't question it, I kept my mouth shut and kept my butt in the car. He got out and walked over to the guys. I could hear them, but their voices were muffled.
"Yo Tomlinson, who's the chick in the car." One of them said. He looked like he was the ringleader. He was standing in front of the others.
"None of your damn business, Valencia. Get out of here."
"No way. I wanna meet your little friend. Hey, you in the car, wanna come out and play?" What happened next was unexpected.
Louis grabbed him by the front of his shirt. He said something so quietly I couldn't hear it. Valencia said something back. Then Louis punched the dude. Again, and again. The dude was lying on the ground, bloody and bruised. But Louis kept up this attack.
As much as I wanted to look away, I couldn't. I watched in fear as the sweet and lovable guy I knew disappeared. He was replaced by the Louis everyone else knew. The viscous and cold assailant. It was scary, seeing him like that. Whatever Valencia said, it had to be fairly bad.
Finally, he stopped he assault. I thanked god. "IF YOU EVER COME NEAR HER, I WILL KILL YOU!" Louis screamed. He started walking back towards the car.
Suddenly I didn't need anything from here anymore.
Louis got in and slammed the door. I didn't comment on it. I just backed out and drove away. I didn't say anything about what just happened. Quite frankly because I didn't know what to say.
When we got to my house, I jumped out of the car. Louis got out quickly and came up beside me. I grabbed his hand and led him to my room. I just needed to lay in his arms for a while. I knew that nothing bad would happen to me as long as I was there.
As soon as we got to my room, I kicked off my shoes. I motioned for him to do the same. He complied. We laid on my bed silently and, just like I needed, he wrapped his arms around me.
For the longest of times, we didn't say anything. He just had his arms protectively around me. I was snuggled into his chest.
"Louis?" I asked gently, looking up at him.
"Yes?"
"What did that guy say to you to get so angry?"
He took a deep breath. "It doesn't matter. Just know that I'll always keep you safe."
OOH. Violence. And a cliffhanger. I'm feeling so powerful now. I hope you enjoy this story. It makes me feel like this is Dark: Louis Tomlinson edition.
So, I'm creating a playlist for this story. Any suggestions?
