A New Start

Vanessa's POV

"I read messages, I'm sorry im so late. I should've read them and replied earlier," he began as I got up and put my bookbag on.

"You really should've, I got in trouble because of you and then got ignored," I rolled my eyes and replied, walking out with Audrey.

"I know, I know. I just thought you were the one that was ignoring me."

"That was your second chance," I said and was tapped on the shoulder. I look to see who it is, "Huh?"

"You left your schedule on the desk," I heard a voice and saw that it was Nate. I then took the schedule.

"Thanks," I smiled and could hear Crawford in the background.

"Umm I know I'm not so much in your good graces right now but is that another guy?" Crawford questions.

"Shut up, he's just giving me something I left," I see Nate walking with us. "What does it matter to you anyway bozo?"

"We have just about the same schedule," Nate whispers as we all get to the room.

"Let me see you later? Catch up?" Crawford suggests.

"I've gotta-" I was cut off.

"Yes? Ok, I'll see you," he says and hangs up quickly before I could even say goodbye. He's a weird one, that boy.

As we walk into the room I slip my phone into my pocket and look up at Nate, "Soo, me, you, and Audrey have a lot of classes together?"

"Seems we do," Nate nods and we all walk towards the back of the room. Nate plopped down in the seat in front of me and Audrey sat beside me.

It was the end of the day at 3:30 p.m. I was happy with the fact that it seemed that the three of us is what's gonna make up our friend group for the year. We all walked out together and said our goodbyes and I made my way to the car where Ana was already waiting.

"Hey, we made it through our first day," I began and unlocked the car.

"Yes, it was actually not bad. Guess who comes here?" She asked me.

"Who?" We both got in and I started the car.

"Devan, I we met up in homeroom," she was exited. "Didn't start off completely brand new."

"Thats awesome!" I turned on the air conditioning. "Crawford doesn't come here but he called me while I was on my way to first period."

"He called you? Wait what, while in school?" She let out a little giggle.

"Right, I was not trying to get my phone taken away again. Except this time in school," I pulled out the parking spot and out of the lot.

"What did he say?"

"He was saying that he was sorry for not responding for quickly and that he was going to come to see me. He didn't even say when or anything," I responded.
