The wind howled and then thunder boomed, nonstop for days as screams from the people emerged from Neverland. Mother Hindi rubbed ointment on her neck then told Prince Haikiem and Princess Janet to do the same.
Janet: Mother Hindi, what is this ointment for?
Mother: This is to keep the demons away from your neck. It fools them into thinking that you are one of them.
They rubbed the ointment on their necks as they approached the gates of Neverland. All was dark and illuminated by lightning, but silent. The carriage stopped and two men checked the carriage.
Guard: What is it that you bring into this Kingdom?
Haikiem: Princess Janet of Neverland.
She looked at the guards and showed them her mark. Without hesitation, the guards let the carriage pass through. As soon as the gated closed, screams filled the air and everything was coated in the blood of the people. Many people ran, some were quicker than others, and Mother Hindi's eyes began to glow as a vision came into her mind.
Mother: The man we seek is inside the palace.
Her eyes went back to grey and they went to the palace doors.
Haikiem: They have been barricaded and the guards refuse to let us in!
Princess Janet looked at Mother Hindi and she knew what she had to do.
Janet: Guards! Hear the words of your fellow Princess! Janet Dameta Jo Jackson of Neverland! The youngest daughter of Neverland! He who shall disobey my command shall have his head displayed for all to see!
All was quiet for a moment before the door creaked open.
Guard: Show me your mark.
She pulled down the left shoulder of her dress and the door opened fully for her, but only for her.
Janet: You will let my people inside. The Great Mother Hindi and Prince Haikiem of Ethiopia.
He looked at her and she gave him a demanding look. Then he opened the door.
Guard: Who are you?
Haikiem: I am Prince Haikiem of Ethiopia and this is the Great Mother Hindi.
They were pulled inside and lead to the ball room. Everything was destroyed except the throne itself. It's back was facing them and Princess Janet slowly approached it. Once she got to the top step, she knelt down with her head down and spoke.
Janet: Father, it is I. Your youngest daughter, Princess Janet Dameta Jo Jackson.
She rose and approached the throne. Her eyes began to burn her when she saw his body laying limp with blood dripping from his neck.
Janet: Father..
She closed his eyes and then he grabbed her. His skin turning pale and his hand running cold. Just then, he fell into a deep sleep. When Janet looked up, she saw Mother Hindi sprinkling powder onto his head, then onto his wound.
Mother: If his soul has not been taken, he is savable.
Princess Janet stood there for a moment and wiped her eyes.
Mother: Come now, child. If you long to save your Kingdom and family, the time is now.
Her heart hardened at the sight and she went with them. As they were walking, she began to hear voices and followed the voices to a room. The room had a balcony where a man stood.
Janet: Michael?
He turned towards her and all she saw were his red eyes. The rest of his body was black. She couldn't run anywhere but towards him and hugged him.
