*Rachel's POV*

I sat on the couch while holding Daniel and waited for Bella to come. Finally, she arrived. We hugged and Bella said hi to Daniel, but there was something off. Bella was wearing a sweater. She never wears sweaters.

"Bella? Are you wearing a sweater?" I asked.

"Oh... Um... I just decided that I would change my style a bit! You know! It's fall now!" She played with Daniel while I set out our dough.

"Alright then! Let's get baking!" We walked over to the sink to wash our hands.

*Bella's POV*

I nervously waited for Rachel to wash her hands. If she saw my cuts, she'd flip on me. So would Niall.

I made sure Rachel wasn't behind me as I pushed up my long sleeves and washed my hands. I restrained to scream in pain as the soap and hot water seared my cuts.

"I am so excited to give these to Liam and Niall!" Rachel said as she started to roll her ball of dough.

I quickly pulled my sleeves down. "They'll love them."

"There's a rolling pin for you, and if you need any, there's the flour. Oh Daniel!" Rachel rushed over to her son as he sucked on the TV remote. I laughed a little.

Meanwhile, I rolled my dough out an grabbed a cookie cutter in the shape of a heart and pressed it in. It cut out with ease and I carefully placed it on a cookie sheet. Rachel placed Daniel in his play pen and came back to rolling.

"What are you doing?!" Rachel shouted.

"What? What am I doing?" I freaked out and backed away.

"Roll your sleeves up! You can't get flour all over that nice sweater!"

I rolled my eyes, but on the inside I was shaking senseless. "Oh come on! I don't need to roll my sleeves up! I'm fine!" As soon as I said that, flour got all over my sleeve. Rachel raised her eyebrows and she motioned for me to roll it up.

"I need to use the bathroom," I said as I ran down the hallway with Rachel at my feet.

"Bella is everything okay?" I locked the door and dusted off my sleeve. When I pulled it up, I winced at the pain.

"I'm fine Rach! Really! I just need some privacy!"

She left me alone. In the meantime, I tried to cover the scars up. I rummaged through the cupboards for some bandaids, but I knew those wouldn't help. Suddenly, an old bottle of liquid foundation splattered all over the sink. I cursed as I got a rag to clean it, but then I got an idea.

I took some foundation and rubbed it over the cuts. Thankfully, it was the perfect shade for my skin tone and covered them up nicely. I walked out of the bathroom and rolled up my sleeves to get back to work.

"Finally! Let's get back to work!" Rachel said as she cut two more cookies. When we finished and put them in the oven, we sat on the couch and looked at some magazines.

We were talking and laughing and playing with Daniel when I felt a sharp pain in my wrist. I winced and pulled back from him and Rachel immediately stopped and looked at me with concern.

"Are you okay? Did Daniel get you?" She asked.

"No," I ground my teeth as I covered my wrist. He'd accidentally grabbed my cut up arm.

"Let me see what he did," Rachel moved closer.

"No I'm okay!" I shouted. "My arm's fine."

"No come on just let me see," Rachel grabbed my arm.

"Please Rachel! It's fine! I promise!" I yelped. But it was too late.

Rachel pulled back the sweater and her eyebrows furrowed.

"Is this foundation? On your arm?"

I didn't say anything. I closed my eyes as if to let her look. I gave up.

She rubbed the foundation off, which made me grimace, and she gasped. I opened my eyes to see tears form in hers.

"What did you do?" She asked softly.
