Fighting In Vain

*Rachel's POV*

"What did you do?" My voice cracked. I felt tears in my eyes.

Bella didn't say or do anything. She just stared at me with the most heartbreaking expression. Her eyes glistened with tears.

"Bella... What happened? Why?"

That's when she cried. And she didn't stop. I stared at the cuts and was baffled. Why did it say 'Niall' on her wrist? Did he break up with her? No, he couldn't have done that. He loved her too much. Especially after all that's happened...

Finally, she spoke. "I couldn't stop myself. It was too much."

"What do you mean? Bella please tell me!"

"The fans! They all hate me! Because Niall and I are together, all his fans hate me! They send so many hateful things to me, Rachel! I can't take it anymore!" She cried into my shoulder as I sat in bewilderment.

"Why can't they accept you?" I whispered.

"I don't know," she sniffled. "They love Niall. I took away their hope of ever loving him."

"That doesn't mean you go and hurt yourself! Bella you were doing so well-"

"I can't do this Rachel! They hate me so much!" Bella pushed away from me and got up. I stood up as well and looked her straight in the eyes.

"Bella. You are better than this. Those fans are just girls. They love One Direction. They love Niall. But they can't get to you. You're stronger than that."

We stared at each other for the longest time. I swear I didn't blink once. She didn't either. Finally, with trembling lips, she spoke.

"I love you Rachel. Don't ever forget that." She grabbed her car keys and her phone and opened the door.

"Bella where are you going?" I ran after her. She started her car.

"BELLA STOP IT!" But she drove away. I sat in the driveway and cried. There wasn't any way to stop her.
