Y/N's heart was pounding, hands excessively sweating and shaking as she waited with a thousand other people for the audition to start. This audition could changed her life and she was determined to give everything that she had to succeed. It was her last chance to prove to her parents that moving to Los Angeles to become a dancer was the best decision. For the last couple of years, she only danced for small gigs and gave some classes but she was set to do better and greater things.

Traveling the world with the biggest girl group in the world seems like the perfect job description for Y/N and all the other dancers waiting patiently for their name to be called. She felt her heart drop when she heard her name being called. This was it, the one moment she had been preparing for all this time. It was now or never, and she knew she had to give this performance her all.

Y/N entered the big room with thirty other hopeful contestants, each looking for the same opportunity as she was. She wasn't sure what to expect, but it surely wasn't the large room with a wall of mirrors positioned behind the girls of Fifth Harmony. While she had anticipated people stretching and doing their warms, she hadn't been expecting for her to be placed in the front row, staring at not only herself in the mirror, but the expressionless faces of the judges.

As she looked from the dancers to the judges, she noticed that one judge was staring at her in a way that made her heart pound furiously. Lauren Jauregui, the girl with the beautiful green eyes that pierced through her, was staring at her intensely. It made Y/N all the more nervous as she thought about how those piercing green eyes would be watching every move. She feared that she would mess up under Lauren's intense watchful eyes, and she couldn't have that. She couldn't let Lauren intimidate her before she had even begun the routine.

She couldn't let her nerves control her. So as the choreographer, Sean Bankhead started to show them the routine, she focused as if her life depended on this audition. The choreography was very intricate and fast, but it didn't scare her as she was used to this kind of challenge. After only fully doing the choreo three times, it was time for the audition to begin. Y/N, being number 7, was in the first group to dance. As the started, she let herself get lost in the music, not caring about her surroundings or the Fifth Harmony girls judging her. The only thing that mattered to her at this moment was dancing.

The music stopped and it was time for next group to dance. Y/N was sweating like she never had before, due to the fact that she was giving this audition her all. She was patting herself down when another one of the dancers approached her.

"Crazy, isn't it?" the boy asked, staring at Y/N's body.

"I guess so," she shrugged, meeting the boy's eyes. He was wearing the number 15, with the name Campbell underneath his number. "Is there a reason you're looking at me like that?"

"Actually, yes," the Campbell boy smirked. "I was wondering what your workout regime was because my boyfriend could definitely use washboard abs like yours."

If Y/N was drinking water right now, she definitely would've choked. She wasn't at all expecting that. "Wait," she coughed out. "You're-"

"Gay? Yup. I wouldn't know straight even if you showed me a stripper pole. I'm Matt by the way." The boy stuck out his hand, trying not to laugh at Y/N's flustered state.

"Y/N, nice to meet you." She shook his hand.

"So which girl do you want to be partnered with?"

"What?" She said raising her eyebrows, confused.

"Well, each dancer will be assigned to a specific girl. Personally, I would love Camila, my little buttercup."

"I-" Y/N couldn't finish her sentence since Sean Bankhead entered the waiting room with a paper in his hands.

"As you are all aware, only five dancers have been chosen to work with Fifth Harmony on their World Tour, I want to thank all the dancers for their dedication and work."

The suspense was killing Y/N. Was her hard work good enough? Did she make it? Would she finally have the chance to prove her parents wrong? The thought of failing scared her more than she could even explain. If her name wasn't called, that would be it for her dancing career. Her parents would force her to get a "real job" when all she wanted to do was dance for the rest of her life.

"Parker, you're with Ally. Ramirez, you've got Normani. Nguyen with Dinah. Campbell and Camila... And...Y/L/N, you're with Lauren."

"Holy shit!" Matt whisper-yelled to Y/N. "We made it? Oh my god, we made it! I need to go call my boyfriend. Congrats!" he exclaimed as he hugged Y/N, who was frozen in her spot. She couldn't believe it... All of her hard work had finally paid off. She made it. She was finally achieving her dreams and going on tour with the Fifth Harmony. And to top it all off, she was paired up with Lauren, the girl who made her heart jump with one look.
