"What is the point of this?!" you yelled at the TV screen. You prepared to hurl the controller in the direction of the window.

"Don't do that!" Benji exclaimed, snatching the remote out of your hands. It was another evening with the lids where you'd all gather together at Benji's house to play Fifa and get drunk.

"How the heck do you even play this game?" you asked Benji, exasperated. "What am I doing wrong?"

"Well, for starters, that button doesn't make you kick the ball, silly." Benji said with a smirk.

"But Van said-" and in the corner of your eye, you could see Van laughing his head off. Your face drops.  How did you even trust Van anyway? He'd always play practical jokes on you and to no surprise was this another one.

"You're so gullible!" Van said to you, still laughing hysterically.

"Alright, Van. Whoever loses doesn't get to drink any more for a month. And no, you cannot go and load up now." Benji explains. He lifts you onto his lap and invites Van to sit next to him.

"I'm gonna smash you." Van whispers to Benji, who proceeded to roll his eyes. The rest of the came and gathered by the TV. Everyone held their breaths watching Van and Benji battled it out. In an instant, Van swerves into a gap and scores a goal.

"WOO!" Van cheered. He proceeded to do a lap of the room. However, he forgot to pause the gae and Benji responded with a header into the back of the net.

"Van, aren't you forgetting something?" I asked him, gesturing broadly at the TV set. He paused and retrieved his remote.

"I'm gonna get you for this, Blakeway." he hissed at Benji jokingly as the others roared with laughter.

Suddenly, the TV screen switched off, followed by the lights.

"What's just happened?" Van questioned, puzzled. He unlocked his phone and switched the torch on. "I was gonna annihilate you, Blakeway but now we can't even play."

"I'm going to the pub, at least there'll be light there." Bondy said with a sigh.

"Yeah I'm gonna come too." Bob replied. Larry and Van proceeded with them.

"I'm off to get pissed. We'll be back soon. And Blakeway - next time, Y/N's playing me, not you. The offer still stands. Good luck sorting those gaming skills out!"

You glared at Van. You were determined to beat him at his own game, even if it was on the Xbox.

"I'll stay here, there's plenty of alcohol here anyway. Besides, the power will back soon enough anyway." Benji said. He wasn't wrong. With a flicker, the lights came back on and the TV restarted itself.

"Told you." he said. You smiled at him. It was nice to have the house with just you and him without anyone else interfering. It felt quieter and calmer.

"Ok, how are we going to go about that bet? Because I can't play Fifa and I don't want you going without alcohol all night. And I kind of want to beat Van." you told Benji.

"I don't really mind too much about the alcohol but you really need to sharpen up on your Fifa skills." Benji says to you.

"Alright, I'll go for that." you replied.

You spent the most part of the night with Benji. After hours into the night, you found yourself able to nail the art of Fifa. Slowly, you began to get tired and proceeded to fall asleep on Benji. He stroked your hair as you rested your head against his chest.

"You look beautiful when you sleep, you know." Benji said to you softly.

"Are you really  declaring your love to me over an Xbox game, Benji?" you retorted, grinning to yourself.

You finally fell asleep with Benji on the sofa with you tucked snugly underneath his arm. You smelt his aftershave and embraced the warmth of having him to snuggle against. It had been a while since anyone had ever let you sleep aside them like that.

"Wake up!" you heard a voice yell. You rubbed your eyes.

"What have you two been up to? Did you bang?"

You looked up. It was no other than Van McCann's cheeky antics.

"Shut it, Van." you replied, your voice croaky from having just woken up.

"Leave her alone, Van. Haven't you anything better to do?" Benji said.

"No, I need her to wake up so I can thrash her at Fifa!"

Begrudgingly, you sat up and switched on the TV. Van was poised with his controller and stared at the screen, even though it was the loading screen.

"Van, you realise it hasn't started yet?" Bondy said to him, rolling his eyes. However, Van was far more concerned at the fact that it was essential he won this Fifa match than to listen to Bondy.

You and Van picked teams, with you playing as Liverpool, Benji's favourite team and Van playing as Manchester City, much to Benji's delight since he felt Liverpool had better control overall. The match kicked off and you noticed that Van's defence was weak nearer the back of the net. You seized the opportunity and shot a goal successfully into the back of the net.

"Are you kidding me?" Van shouted as you grinned to yourself.

The match continued with Van not saying a single word and Benji quietly cheering you on. With thirty seconds left of the match, Van attempted to score. Fortunately, with your stromg reflexes, you managed to save the ball from entering the net as you held your breath. Soon enough, the whistle blew. Benji smiled at you. He now wouldn't have to worry about Van drinking all of his alcohol.

"Gotcha, McCann." you said to Van as you brushed past him in victory.
