May 1st, 2012: Tuesday Morning

The hardest part about falling asleep, is waking up. What is worse is waking up in a place that is not your room. Especially if it happens to be a hospital room and there are people staring at you. Jennifer noticed that her curtains had been pulled back completely and that there were two nurses around her bed. Behind them by the door, stood very official looking men, with Officer Sanchester being among them.

"Do not worry honey, just relax and take deep breaths. We are here to help you in any way we can." came the sweet voice of one of the nurses. She had heavy make up on and thick curly blond hair. She was pulling on one of the many wires surrounding Jennifer.

The other nurse who had graying hair with fine lines on her face kept glancing at the men and then to Jennifer. She leaned in and whispered in her ear. "They are not allowed to talk to you until you are ready. I'm sorry that you had to wake up to this sight. We will make them leave if you want."

Jennifer gave her a quick nod and then glanced back at the men crammed by the door. The nurse took notice of this and made shooing motions with her hands. "Out all of you. This is invasion of our patient's privacy and you are not going to get any of your answers any faster if you make her feel uncomfortable."

"Yes nurse, but you must understand we are trying to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible and before any one else gets hurt." retorted one of the officers.

"I understand, so leave now!" She said with one more motion of her hands and they left the room. She went to shut the door before turning to face Jennifer. "Alright Jennifer, we are sticking our necks out for you." The nurse motioned to the younger nurse and they both looked over at her.

The blonde haired one said, "Hi my name is Jackie and this is Gina. We have been attending to your needs since early this morning. We have been briefed about your case, but we have to talk to you about something."

Gina stepped forward and then pointed to the IV. "Jennifer, why was your IV ripped from your hand and the heart monitor turned off? You could have been seriously hurt or even triggered an alarm! Also you were wearing one of the hospital hoodies. We haven't spoken to anyone else about this yet, but we need answers. I'm sorry to put this on you right now, but we are trying to protect you."

"I appreciate it deeply. And yes, I took the IV off and detached the heart monitor. I am a medical assistant so I know the proper use of these things, but I really needed to see my friends. You have to realize that my friends have been hurt and I haven't seen them and am going crazy with nobody giving me answers."

"We are trying to understand but please do not try a stunt like that again! It is very dangerous and you have a possible poisoning." said Jackie.

"We don't know much about your friends at this moment, but I'm guessing you didn't have any luck finding out about them either?"

"Unfortunately no. I-" Realizing that she almost let slip about Officer Jones finding her and talking to her, she scolded herself for making a close mistake that would've cost her the only person on the police force that she could trust. Quickly recovering, she simply stated, "I got scared and decided to return back.

"Good thing you did, because who knows what trouble you would've gotten yourself into. Now we have been given permission to tell you that the flowers that were in your apartment had some chemical on them that had knocked you out. It is a mix of chemicals, as you understand that act on the nervous system." Jennifer already knew this, and acted as if this were the first time hearing it. She feigned surprise in her face and confusion.
