and so the first time
that our gazes meet,
it becomes clearer to me
that your eyes are not
completely black
specks of brown surround it
the sun bringing out the color
of what it is supposed to be
to make me see that they,
were pools of chocolate
some words fill your lips
and i am sure that they start
with a polite "you are so" and,
an adjective follows
that i never saw coming
i tense up, not quite aware why
because of the compliment
that sends me in uneasiness
and shifting attention,
avoiding those chocolate eyes
i surprise myself and you as well,
when i return your words with
something you think that is
extremely negative that
you care very much
i tell you that you are weird,
strange and even peculiar
but maybe i was talking
about myself, just so
unconsciously enough
and you widen your brown eyes
because you never saw it
coming either, furthermore,
coming from me, someone
you think is so and an adjective
