Chapter 2
Jake's POV
My alarm clock didn't wake me up like I intended it to, probably because I fell asleep before setting it up. I usually sleep in during Saturdays, but today is an exception.
I was supposed to wake up 15 minutes ago but by habit, I woke myself up to my normal sleeping schedule. You may say, 15 minutes isn't a big deal. News flash, it is if you are Jake Williams.
So I woke up at 7:45 and had to rush because we were meeting at eight when only a few people were in the library. 15 minutes to prepare is no time at all. I still have to head to the library which would take about five minutes.
I quickly grabbed a black sweatshirt, some comfortable jeans and sneakers. Tidying my hair, I realized that my eyes were still puffy and red.
Oh no.
Hopefully she won't notice. I'm not in the mood of explaining right now.
I grabbed my backpack and headed downstairs. I checked my watch, 7:53. I got a slice of apple from each of my sisters' plates and headed out.
"See ya'll later!"
Seated in my black, Mercedes car, I felt really proud. I had to earn this myself with my own money. Dad also gave me another car, but it was just the cheapest car out there.
I placed my bag on the front seat and started driving. The library isn't so far, 5 minutes by car; 10 by foot.
The library opened just as I arrived. Perfect timing. Although, it would've been better if I was fashionably late. I scanned the crowd as soon as I stepped out of my car.
I saw a familiar colour mix of brown and red and recognized her right away. Secretly following her to our seats as planned.
As soon as she already sat,I tapped her shoulder. She jumped and turned around.
"Hey," I waved.
The edges of her lips quirked up a little and I was happy to make her smile. I took a seat right in front of her, and opened my books.
She followed what I did.
"We have as long as we want although can we introduce ourselves first?"
She seemed like she was studying me, but I knew she was focusing on my lip movement. I have to be wary of how I speak from now on.
After a few seconds, she nodded and pointed towards me.
"Okay. I'm Jake Codee Williams. I'm 16 years old and I have..." I trailed off. She raised her eyebrow. "I have two siblings." I continued in a strained voice.
Ariana looked at me accusingly like she new there was something going on. She started to do some weird sign language that I couldn't interpret.
She noticed, and took a pad of paper. Ariana handed it to me. It was all about her. She actually prepared for this. Now I feel bad.
Name : Ariana Riley Jones (don't tell anyone my second name please. You are the first one I told.)
Now I feel damn special.
Age : 16
I'm an only child.
She wrote the same things as me? Or in my case, I said it.
"Nice to know we are the same age. By the way, can I call you Riley?" She shook her head.
"Only when it is the two of us?" She looked at me weirdly and nodded slowly.
