Chapter 5
Jake's POV
My morning didn't start well.
I forgot to set my alarm so I was running late.
When I arrived school, I immediately ran to my locker, got my Literature stuff and sprinted towards the classroom.
By the time I arrived in the classroom, the bell rang.
I sighed and went to my seat, ignoring the whispers that came from my classmates.
Today is Wednesday.
There's training! Crap. I forgot my stuff. Coach is going to kill me. Racking my brain for a solution to my problem, I didn't realize that my teacher called me for recitation.
Thankfully, I already read about it and was able to answer her question. Then, an idea popped into my head, as if a light bulb was suddenly switched on.
I knew you were a genius inside, Jake!
When lunch came around, I headed to my car instead of eating and drove home quickly. Thank God my house was only ten minutes away from school.
Running up the stairs three steps at a time, I barged in my room, grabbing my bag hurriedly, and in a matter of ten seconds, I was out of the house.
Going back to school and running to my locker to place my bag, I realized I only had 20 minutes left before the bell rings.
I hurriedly bought a chicken sandwich and ate it as as fast as I could. I was too busy eating my sandwich that I didn't notice Mark calling my name.
"JAKE! WHERE WERE YOU? I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU!" He shouted in between pants, running in my direction.
I turned around as he approached me.
"Bad day," I simply stated while finishing the sandwich. He nodded in understanding, his hands still on his knees.
"See you later, then?" Mark said, heading to his next subject, which happens to be on the other side of the building, as opposed to my subject's room.
"Yeah. Whatever." I waved goodbye and jogged towards the Music room.
Why Music? Why? I personally hate it since I frankly suck at that subject.
I sat at the corner of the room and waited for the other students to come in. They eventually started filing in as we waited patiently for our teacher.
Meanwhile, I waited anxiously.
Ms. Evergreen finally came in and everyone settled down.
"Class, we would be having a talent show today like I promised last week."
There were some cheering and booing.
Ms. Evergreen called our names one by one and we had to do it on the stage.
That was my signal to die. I was failing the class. Why did I take this again?
Oh yeah, it's because I didn't want to take Health. I regret it now.
I can't play a thing.
What do I do?
Ariana stood up from her seat as the teacher signaled her to come over to play. She went to the harp and started playing.
Wow. She can play so beautifully and gracefully.
When she finished playing, everyone clapped.
