Chapter 8

I wake up and stare at the ceiling until it hits me: I am engaged to Alfie! I lift my hand and look at the beautiful ring that he proposed to me with. Alfie wakes up and wraps his arms around me, he pulls me close to him and I burrow my head into him "Hello Fianceé, how are you feeling this morning?" He says stroking my hair.
"Even better knowing that we are going to get married and have a baby!!" I say with a smile from ear to ear planted on my face
"Today we need to film and tell everyone our news" Alfie says to me, he hugs me tightly then gets up and walks over to his wardrobe "How do you want to tell them?" He asks while picking out his outfit
"I think we should just come out with it" I say while walking over to my wardrobe, I pick really baggy, comfy clothes and throw them on, I touch up my make-up only lightly, just covering my blemishes with concealer, and I brush through my hair. Alfie walks downstairs and sets up the camera.
"Zoë! The cameras ready!" Alfie shouts up the stairs
"I will be down in a minute gorgeous" I shout back, I walk into the bathroom and stare in the mirror "You can do this Zo" I say to my reflection, I always get so nervous before filming but today's video is making me even more nervous. I drag myself downstairs and into the living room and sit next to Alfie "Alf, I am really nervous"
"You aren't the only one Zo, let's just get it over and done with" Alfie gets up and turns the camera on and then sits down
"What's up guys, so I am here with Zoë today"
"Hiiii"
"We have some big news today"
"Yes we do"
"So me and Zoë went out for a meal yesterday, at a beautiful restaurant and then I proposed. She said no"
"Hey you monkey, I said yes!"
"WE ARE ENGAGED!"
"YES WE AREEEE!"
"It's a short one today but we needed to tell you, Bye"
"Byeeeee" Alfie shuts the camera down and plugs it into the laptop and uploads it straight away. He puts the laptop on his knee and leans back on the sofa with me snuggled into his arm. We wait for comments to see what people say and comments come pouring in from everywhere:
Sprinkleofglitr: CHUMMY! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH, LOTS OF LOVE, Louise and Darcy
Thatcherjoe: My big sister is engaged! Alfie, you better treat her right or I will take care of you, ha ha. I'm just joking mate, I wish you both the best, I better get an invite.
Alfie quickly responds with:
Pointlessblog: Don't worry Joe your sister is just fine with me, and you will be invited don't worry
There were so many more comments and we stared at the screen for a long time smiling at all the nice comments, and then Alfie shut the laptop down. He kisses me on top of my head and I snuggle into him
"Can we just relax and watch movies for the rest of the day like this, together, future husband" I say with a smile on my face
"Sure we can future wife" Alfie grabs the tv remote and turns on a movie channel. We lie there for hours until we check the time it is already 8pm and I really need sleep
"I am going upstairs gorgeous" I say unwrapping myself from his embrace
"Okay beautiful" I lean down and kiss him
"I love you Alfie" I say, hovering in front of his face
"I love you too Zoë" He says, placing a kiss on the tip of my nose. I walk upstairs and lie in my bed pulling the covers over me until I am wrapped up like a chrysalis. I gently close my eyes and feel myself falling to sleep.
