The following day she didn't come, her mom wouldn't let her. She tried the day after to convince her mom to take her but she wouldn't change her mind.
A couple days later they went to a supermarket close to the park. When her mom wasn't looking she walked out of the market following a couple. She told them she was chasing a big kid from the park and got lost. The park was only a street away, so they believed her and helped her.
She was smart for an 8-year-old, something she got from her mother. Along with other things like lying, and running away.
"Look!" She shouted pointing at a little boy. "That's my brother Matt." She said waving goodbye, running to him.
"Matt!"
"Huh?" The little brunet boy mumbled looking up, his eyes finding her. "Hey! You're here!"
"Yeah, my mom said no to coming here yesterday." She told him referring to four days ago.
"Oh okay, do you wanna pl-" He began saying but cut off by the voice of an older feminine one.
"Matthew, who's your friend?" A woman asked crouching down to the same height as them.
"Um..." Matthew wondered looking at her.
"I'm Honey." She told them fiddling with her fingers.
"Honey?" Matthew's mom asked furrowing her eyebrows.
Honey nodded her head giving a small smile. "It's the only name they ever call me."
"Oh." Was all Matthews mom said as they began to draw on the concrete.
"Honey, where's your mommy?" Matthews mom asked standing back up, looking around.
She shrugged her shoulders turning her attention to Matthew drawing on the concrete floor.
