Isaac looked back at Reptile in horror of what he'd just done. He lifted the axe, and looked at it in disgust. He'd never killed a man, and never thought he would. Cierra stared at him in shock and disbelief.
"I didn't know, I was scared for your lives!" Isaac defended himself, looking like he was about to cry.
"It's alright," Cierra forgave him. "You saved us. Or at least me."
Isaac slowly walked over to Cierra, and looked over her shoulder to see the damage, and it was terrifying.
Jordan had lost conscience, and had gone limp. He wasn't dead yet, but it seemed like holding onto life was like grasping a cloud. Cierra was covered in blood and tears, as it seemed like there was no hope of saving their fallen brother. Issac knelt down beside her, trying to hold back tears of his own, and put his arm around her. Cierra broke down in tears of mourning and grief, and Isaac soon followed, not being able to handle the emotion.
Jordan seemed like a lifeless husk, without having had any last words to be remembered by.
"I've never seen anyone drive off the Empress of Outworld like that before," a voice called. A woman with a long blonde braid and a commander's cap strolled casually from the shadows. "I'm sorry, but, I don't think he made it."
"He's still alive, though!" Cierra snapped her head up and shouted. "There's still a chance, right? There has to be! Can you help us, please?"
"I'll see what I can do," the woman told them. "The name's Blade, by the way. General Sonya Blade."
Sonya gently took Jordan from Cierra's grasp, and placed him on the cold ground. She went into her duffle bag and pulled out some emergency medical equipment. She worked vigorously to try and at least let this poor victim of the Empress of Outworld live for a little while longer, and hopefully let him see the light of day again.
"So, what's his name, and what are your relationships with him?" she asked.
"His name is Jordan," Isaac informed her. "He's our older brother."
"Your brother, huh?" Sonya repeated. "Guess I have an even better reason to try and save him."
After a little while of silence and Sonya working determinedly, she rose up with a relieved smile.
"Good news, he's going to make it, but only if we get him some real help," Sonya concluded. Cierra and Isaac breathed in shocked relief. "Luckily my camp is nearby," she proclaimed. "If we hurry, we can get him there, and we can save him."
The three of them trekked through the snow until they reached a fenced in area. Sonya had Jordan's large body slung over her shoulder, and was somehow managing to carry him, even though he was a lot bigger than she was. Occasionally, Isaac would help with the burden, and that's what he was doing when they approached the camp.
A young woman was guarding the gate, leaning against the wall and scrolling through her phone. She looked up when they approached, and smirked.
"Hi, Mom," she greeted. "Who've you got with you?"
"Cassie, these are Cierra and Isaac, and this guy," Sonya motioned to the limp body she was carrying. "is their brother, Jordan. He's in critical condition. He needs immediate medical help, and still not exactly sure if he's going to make it."
"Woah," Cassie excalaimed. "What happened to him?"
"We were attacked by the Empress of Outworld, Mileena, and some lizard guy named Reptile," Cierra explained.
"Mileena and Reptile?" Cassie repeated in disbelief. "Get him the fuck inside!"
It was a long and tedious process. Isaac and Cierra were waiting impatiently, still wrecked and scarred from the experience, but after hours upon hours, Cassie came back with the news.
"He's stable." Cassie said with a smile. "Actually, he should be waking up anytime now."
"Oh thank God!" Cierra wept, burying her head in her hands and running her fingers through her hair. Isaac wrapped around in a big hug.
Cassie led them to where Jordan was. He still looked like a complete train wreck, dirty and covered in dried blood. Cierra held his hand gently, waiting for him to wake up.
After a little more waiting, there was movement. Jordan could be heard breathing, and his eyes began to flutter open. He was nervously shaking his head, obviously still scared. Once he was fully conscious and could see clearly, he jolted upright, fear in his eyes, and breathing heavily.
"Jordan! Calm down! You're just going to make yourself worse!" Cierra urged. "Lie back down. Just relax."
"What's going on?" Jordan shouted, confused and seeming to not have heard anything Cierra had just said. "Where am I?"
"Just calm down, everything's going to be fine. We met someone who helped us out, and she brought us to her military camp to get you help. Please, just lay back down." Cierra urged him further. Jordan obeyed, still shaken up and obviously scarred for life. Cierra caressed him, trying to calm him down, which seemed to be working. Jordan's breathing eased, and his muscles were relaxed. Isaac sat, solemnly, wondering if he should say anything. Eventually, he did.
"Are you okay, Jordan?" he asked.
"Well, aside from having been brutally ripped apart by a crazy woman with the teeth of nighmares and being sure I was going going to die, yeah." Jordan recalled. "By the way, where's Beth?"
"Oh, no, I didn't realize that!" Cierra began freaking out. "We haven't seen her yet!"
