NOT THE ONLY ONES

11. NIGHTMARES

I hadn't still got used to the idea that Robert and I were living under the same roof.

School was the usual, I started attending my classes again mostly because everything was running smoothly, and there were no more 'incidents'.

Professor McCullum, had also reduced my workload. He gave me less things to work upon and didn't make me rush to complete it.

But I have a feeling that there's something wrong about this. I mean why out of nowhere will such calmness spread ?

I m just over thinking it. There's nothing to worry about.

I walked around the dead bodies as if they were just a pile of dirty clothes and nothing else.

I carried lethal swords in both my hands , swords so dangerous that one touch with it and sucked the life out of every living thing.

Everything was in chaos, people were running to save themselves and I hunted them down like an animal.

And I was enjoying it ,I was enjoying massacring people. I was laughing at their screams. I was having fun killing innocent people.

One thing was strange though, my eyes weren't their usual royal blue, they were gray. I turned around to see what destruction I had caused.

To my horror the dead bodies of my parents and Veer lay on the top.

It was as if I was out if trance and I realised what I had done.

"No , you can't die. I m sorry. I didn't do it knowingly. I was.. I m sorry wake up, wake up please. Mom dad, Veer listen to me come back, please just come back " I say.

My eyes are no longer gray and cold, they return to their original colour.

"Don't stop your highness, continue the good work. Kill everybody, we are with you " some voice said.

No, what's happening? Why did I kill my parents and my beloved. And I started crying.

Someone shook me hard.

Thud...

I fell from the bed and realised that it was just a nightmare.

No, not just nightmare it was a horrible one.

I looked around and saw everybody gathered around me. Mom and dad looked worried, Jenny and Sara seemed concerned, Kevin and John were irritated and Robert gave away nothing, his face was emotionless.

"Are you alright now, honey ? Mom asked while helping me up.

Pain coursed through my back. I had fell really hard.

"Ouch" I said and sat on the floor again.

Immediately Robert was beside me and his face was flooded with emotions.

"Mallika, I know you're hurt. Don't worry, I'll get you something, just hold on for a minute " Robert says.

"Mom can find some for me. You don't need to -"

He picked me up bridal style and laid me on my bed. I winced again as my butt made contact with the mattress.

"Mallika, I'll get you some analgesic and some gel . Don't worry. You'll be OK soon" Dad says.
