I pick up my phone with sleepy eyes, I'm so sleepy that I don't even read the caller ID.
Who must be calling me so early morning?
"Hello" I mutter groggily
"Wake up sleepyhead, it's 6 already"
"Roma? "
"Yeah, it's me who else?" She says.
"Shhh, let me sleep, it's just 6 why did you wake me up so early? "
"Silly, it's our autumn dance today " Roma shouts.
"Shhh, why are you shouting? I can hear you perfectly "
"Get off your bed, you lazy bum" Roma says.
"Please, let me sleep, I'll.. (yawn) speak to you later "
"You're yawning, you wanna sleep? I couldn't sleep the entire night coz of the excitement "Roma says.
"Please Roma, I'll speak to you at school. Byee, good night "
She giggles but hangs up.

We'll have to come to school again today, Erghh...
"Hi, Mally. Did you sleep well? "Roma asks.
I give her a dirty look and she bursts out laughing.
"What? I'm sorry, okay " Roma says.
"Yeah, yeah, now tell me what was so important that you wanted to speak to me at 6 in the morning"
"Oh, yeah, guess who asked me to today's dance" Roma asks.
"Ricky ?!?"
"Yeah, Ricky did. He kinda msgd me at midnight and I was so shocked, but I told him yes. I wanted to tell you right away, but I thought you must be asleep " Roma says.
Roma had crush on Ricky for like forever, It's good, atleast one of us is happy about their love lives.
"Oh! I'm so happy for you, sweetie, it's great news "
I give her a bear hug and she hugs me back.
"Thanks, Mally, I'm so happy "Roma chirps.
"Who's going with Twinkle and Soumya? "
"Twinkle's going with Shourya and Soumya's going with Jay I guess " Roma says.
"It's great! All of you have great partners, you'll have fun"
"What about you? Who's going with you? " Roma asks.
"No one, I'm dateless " I say it in a way that makes it sound funny.
"You serious? " Roma asks.
"Yeah, nobody asked me, you know I'm not that sort of a girl for whom boys will come running "
"Mally, don't, you're much more beautiful than I'm, you're better than everyone here, guys are blind, if they can't see someone so beautiful " Roma says.
"You are the bestest friend anyone can ever have "
"I know, you deserve happiness, well why didn't you ask somebody? Why not Veer "Roma asks.
And only the mention of his name drains the colour of my face.
"He called me his lil sis! Not once, twice thrice, I have no future with my beloved. I'm damned, Roma"
I feel the familiar sting in my eyes, it's kind of warning that my tears are giving me.
Roma pulls me into one of her comforting hugs.
