10. COMPLICATIONS

"Ma, I really don't want to go to school today, please"

"Mallika what's wrong with you? You rarely miss school, do you feel sick sweetie?" My mum asked.

"No mum, I m good. I just.. arghh I'll go to school. Ok"

"You sure about it, honey, you don't have to go if you don't want to" mum said.

"No, I will go"

If I don't you'll ask me unnecessary questions that I don't want to answer. I thought to myself.

You know what, I should have stayed at home and let mamma question me. It wouldn't be as bad as the feeling I m having right now - embarrassment.

How on Earth am I going to face Robert!

"Hi Mallika" Robert says in his unmistakably sweet but manly voice.

I groan inwardly as I turn around.

Great! I didn't want to come to the school in the first place coz I wanted to avoid him and now he's greeting me!

"Hi and Bye Robert, I... I gotta go "

"Wait" he said holding my hand.

"Don't be embarrassed Mallika. It happened yesterday, don't ruin your today for it,  what do you call it - Umm 'Raat gayee baat gayeee' right" he said.

I chuckled at his Hindi accent and said "it's Raat gayi baat gayi"

"Whatever, I just wanted to say that it's in the past. Let's not ruin our future for it, OK?  He said.

Mallika why can't you make yourself feel for him? He's so easy to love, he's being good and respectful to you even after you broke his heart. He's too perfect to be real and I love Veer.

Why are you doing this? Love him like he does.

"No No no "

"What no?" He asks

Did I just say no out loud. Robert's messing my head .

"Nothing, let's start practice. I wasted an entire day, need to compensate for it "

Hurt crossed his face and I realised how he took my words.

"Robert I didn't mean that I wasted my day being with you. Please don't think like that. It was one of the best days in my life and yes I'll let go of yesterday's incident "

"Thanks Mallika" he says.

"Wait, I m not done, I'll be your friend , more than friends if you want but I can't give you anything more than that, as much as I'd like to ease your pain I can't "

A smile spread on his lips and he ran his fingers through his sexy golden brown hair.

Wow! He looked so ravishing I wish I could run my fingers in his sexy hair.

C'mon get a hold on yourself Mallika. What the hell are you thinking about?

"So you're saying that you like me and if you wouldn't have in love already, I would win you " he asks.

"Of course" I replied before thinking and blushed red. I wish the ground would split into half and swallow me.

"I.. I mean... urgghh. I.."

He laughed beautifully and said "it's good to know".
