Our Bond (Natsu x Reader) (Sequel to The Way to a Dragon's Heart)

Chapter 7

(3rd PoV)

"Next up is Zachary Dragneel's parents! Mr. Natsu Dragneel and Mrs. (Y/N) Dragneel!"

The audience of 160 8th graders clapped and cheered loudly.

"Yes! Finally some wizards!"

"It's the Natsu and (Y/N) Dragneel!"

"I've always wanted to see them!"

Natsu and (Y/N) walked onstage as they grinned and waved at the crowd of 8th graders. "Hey guys!" They greeted in unison. The 8th graders all greeted back loudly.

"So to start off, just like Mr. (Principal's Name) said, my name is (Y/N) Dragneel-" "-and I'm Natsu Dragneel!" Natsu interrupted (Y/N), making a few students laugh. A slight tick mark appeared on (Y/N)'s forehead as she discreetly shot Natsu a glare, but resumed talking.

"We work as wizards!" (Y/N) said cheerfully as she clapped her hands together. "We're part of the Fairy Tail guild! The famous guild that is right here in Magnolia!" Natsu said excitedly and loudly. Many yells and cheers erupted from the 8th graders at Natsu's last sentence.

'Wow. I didn't know that 8th graders could get so hyped up like this..' (Y/N) thought as the students quieted down.

A hand immediately shot up from the crowd. The principal then said something about having questions at the end, but (Y/N) stopped him. "It's alright, we can take this one question." She said with a grin. The principal nodded and then nodded again at the student who had their hand up.

"I have a question." The boy said as he grinned with stars in his eyes. 'Is he Juvia..?' (Y/N) and Natsu both thought. "Shoot." They then said in unison.

"What magic do you two use?"

At that, Natsu and (Y/N) grinned widely, showing off their fangs, making most of the students gasp. "We're Dragon Slayers!" They said in unison.

"I'm a Fire Dragon Slayer." Natsu said as he lit his fists on fire and held them up so the students could see them, earning many looks of awe. "I'm an Elemental Dragon Slayer, so I can use all of the elements. But the four main elements I use are-" "Water,-" (Y/N) began as she engulfed her hands in water. "Fire,-" "Earth,-" "and Air." (Y/N) demonstrated all of the elements she listed, lastly making a gust of wind go throughout the whole auditorium. At that, all of the students cheered loudly.

"To earn money, we go on jobs that people all around Fiore request. People send in flyers to Fairy Tail with job request descriptions and the reward money. Us wizards then get to choose which job looks interesting, or which has a high reward, and take it! Sometimes, job requester's want a certain wizard or wizard group to take their job because they know that they can handle the job." (Y/N) explained.

"That's it, right?" Natsu then asked (Y/N), earning a nod from her. "Alright! Now who has questions?!" Natsu asked excitedly. Immediately, many hands shot up from the crowd. (Y/N) and Natsu glanced at each other as they began answering questions.

"You in the red shirt."

A boy stood up and grinned, "When did you two join Fairy Tail?"

Natsu and (Y/N) glanced at each other as they smiled. "I joined when I was 17." (Y/N) said with a proud smile. "I joined when I was either 7 or 8!" Natsu said with an equally proud grin.

Many whoa's came from the students at Natsu's answer.

The last question that was asked was a very surprising one. One that made (Y/N) freeze up.

"You in the black and white shirt."

A red-haired girl with freckles stood up with a small smirk on her face.

(Y/N) suddenly shivered slightly as the girl stood up, but thought lightly of it and paid attention to the girl.

"This question is for you, Elemental Princess." The girl said in a slight high pitched voice. (Y/N) nodded and flashed the girl a grin, "Alright, ask away."

The girl then gave (Y/N), Natsu, and Zach a very innocent smile as she said her question.

"Why don't you give Zach back to his real parents?"

(Your PoV)

"Why don't you give Zach back go his real parents?"

My body immediately froze up as my eyes widened as soon as I heard the girl. 'D-Did she just..'

"Wh-What do you-"

"Because he's obviously adopted, right? There's no way that he's actually your guys kid." The girl said with a sneer.

I was about to reply, but someone beat me to it.

"Cheese and crackers Melissa, shut up! What the heck is wrong with you?" A black-haired girl exclaimed from across the auditorium as she stood up and shot the red-haired girl, Melissa, a glare.

A blonde-haired boy also stood up as he shot Melissa a glare, "You don't just say something like that! Don't you ever know when to shut your big mouth?" Many other students began yelling at the red-haired girl as she began to shrink back down into her chair.

Natsu and I were then rushed off of the stage, with Zach behind us.

But I wouldn't realize that until we got home since I was still in a daze from the question the girl asked.

'I.. I would never give Zach back to his parents.. I mean.. Unless.. Unless he wanted to go back.. Would Zach want to go back..?'

I was then shaken out of my daze as I saw a familiar pair of onyx-colored eyes in front of me. "(Y/N)? (Y/N)!" Natsu said loudly as he shook my shoulders.

"Huh?" I mumbled out as I saw Natsu's and Zach's worried faces. They both sighed in relief as they heard me. "You had us worried for a few minutes there. You didn't say a thing as we left the school and came outside." Natsu said with a slight smile.

"Are you alright Mom?" Zach asked as he gave me a worried look. I stared at him for a few seconds before pulling him into a hug.

"Yes. Yes I'm alright."
