After befriending Gina, I thought 'hey, maybe this year won't be so bad after all.' I was mistaken. The next day, I was heading to Gina's locker. Then I heard another voice by her.
"Is the plan working?"
It was Guy. What did he mean 'plan'? I hid behind a nearby garbage can and listened in on their conversation.
"Yeah, it's going great so far. She's so gullible." Gina laughed.
"Good news. Have you printed out the fake pictures yet?" Guy asked.
"Yep. All printed and ready to go. All I need to do is put them in people's lockers, and we'll be all set." Gina said before closing her locker.
I heard Guy chuckle evilly, and start walking away. How could Gina do this? I stood up and cleared my throat.
"Oh, Ina! Hey!" Gina called nervously.
Guy smirked, but kept walking.
"Don't 'Hey Ina' me. I heard everything. How could you do that to me? Just when I thought I could trust you." I said, my voice cracking a bit.
"Ina, I swear that's not what's going on. You heard wrong." Gina replied, waving her hands.
"No. I don't believe you anymore. I don't know what these 'fake pictures' are, but I'm done with you." I stated sternly.
I shook my head at Gina, and walked away from her locker. Great, just great. What will I do now?
Gina's POV
I can't believe what just happened. Ina wouldn't even let me explain anything. I'm not tricking her, I'm tricking Guy. He wanted me to photoshop Ina plagiarizing her recipes. Instead, I photoshopped him plagiarizing. I hate how he treats people, it's only right to put him in his place.
"I have to fix this.." I mumbled to myself, before slamming my locker and walking off to class.
Ina's POV
I walked to my first class, my face emotionless. Why don't I just give up on making friends? It's obvious I can't trust anyone in this school. Guy has infected all of them. Wow.. It's only my third day here and everything is already falling apart. How will I last an entire year? I sat down at my desk and gazed out the window.
-time skip to lunch-
Here it is. Lunch time. I guess I'm going to be sitting alone today. I went to a table in the corner of the room and opened my lunch box. As I was about to bite into my gourmet meal, someone sat down on the other side of the table.
"Hey."
Gina. I was about to get up, but then I heard her speak.
"Ina, please listen to me."
My eyes widened a bit at the desperation in her tone. I turned around and sat down.
"What?" I asked.
"Look. I need to explain what was happening. Guy is trying to get me to backstab you, but I'm not. He wanted me to print out some fake pictures of you stealing a recipe, but I made the pictures be him instead. You've gotta believe me, it's like I told you yesterday. I don't trust Guy." Gina finished her explanation and looked at me hopefully.
I thought about it for a second. Should I trust her? She does seem to be telling the truth. I sigh.
"Fine. But this doesn't mean I completely trust you yet." I said.
Gina fist pumped the air.
"So you forgive me?" She smiled.
I nod slowly and go back to eating. Gina grins and pulls out her lunch as well. The rest of the time was spent telling jokes and laughing with my new friend Gina.
(I hope I fooled you at the beginning, lol. Sorry for not updating in a while, I've been working on other stuff. I'll try to update more often.)
