Holly's POV
"Holly, something came for you in the mail today." Mom said at dinner.
I'd dazed off, thinking about Will, or 'Kiingtong.' Her words shot me back to reality. "What's it about?" I asked.
"Why don't you see for yourself." She handed me a letter. From Mrs. Ward. I ripped the envelope open and read aloud.
"We are pleased to inform you that your Holly Lily Mac has gotten a spot in our Fandom School. Eek!" I screamed. Mom, Dad, and my brother John covered their ears and I continued. "Classes will start August twenty fifth- we can't wait to see you there! Oh my god I got in!" I yelled.
"Congratulations." Mom smiled.
"Good job, honey." Dad said.
"Good thing I won't have to hear you scream about some youtuber or whatever all the time." John earned a scolding from Mom.
"Today is July thirtieth so I have to wait less than a month! Yes!" I exclaimed.Time skip to August cause if lazy af
I'd flown from my home in Chicago to Washington, where the school is. Mom came with me to make sure I checked in alright. I'd put away all my posters and packed my merch along with other clothes. I heard that about a mile or two away from the campus a little shopping center and on campus there is a shop full of fan stuff.
We walked in through tinted glass doors and headed to the desk.
"Hi, we are the Macs. Holly here got into the school." Mom said.
"Ah, yes." The lady at the desk said. "I'll just need you to fill this out, Mrs. Mac." She handed Mom a form and smiled down at me. I returned her friendly smile. She seemed nice.
Mom filled out the form and handed it back. "You are on floor two room fourteen." She handed me a key.
"Thank you." Mom smiled.
"Thanks." I said, turning to Mom and hugging her. "See you on Christmas break?"
"Sure thing." She smiled.
I rushed over to the elevator. I heard a ding and the doors slid open. A few girls walked out.
I forgot to mention, the school is ages thirteen through sixteen. People starting off the year at thirteen are grade one, and so on. I'm in grade one. Grade one rooms are on floor two, grade two on floor three, and so on. The ground floor is classrooms and that kind of stuff. The school is girls only.
I got in the elevator and pressed 2. It went up for a few seconds and then the doors opened again. Room fourteen. I repeated to myself. I came across the room and opened the door.
The room was surprisingly big. There were two bunk beds, one on each side of the wall, and a big window in the middle of the room that looked out into a courtyard. There was plenty of wall space for posters and such. The bathroom was to the left of the door.
There was a girl hunched over a book on the bottom right bunk. She jumped when I came in and looked up, pushing her glasses up her nose. (LOL THAT SOUNDS WEIRD)
"H-hey, I'm Lauren. Lauren Thorpe." She stood up and held out her hand for me to shake.
"Hey." I smiled. "I'm Holly." I put my belongings on the bottom left bunk. "So we are the first ones here?"
"I-I guess." She stuttered.
"Hmm."
"If you couldn't tell I'm really shy and I stutter a lot." She looked down.
"That's fine." I said reassuringly.
I heard someone fumbling with the door and it opened to reveal a girl with short brown hair that was dyed blue green in the front. She had a gray beanie on. Her hazel eyes studied us.
"Hey." I broke the silence.
"Hi." She responded simply.
"I'm Holly and this is Lauren."
"Rowan." She put her suitcase against the wall.
The door opened yet again and a chic with wavy blonde hair walked in.
"Ugh, these heels are too low!" She complained.
Rowan looked at her in disgust. Me and Lauren shared a glance.
The girl looked up, noticing we were here. She spread her lipstick covered lips in a smile. "You must be my roomates!"
"Yeah.." I said.
"U-yeah." Lauren murmured.
Rowan rolled her eyes and turned away.
"I'm Kendal."
"I'm Holly. That's Lauren and Rowan." I pointed to them.
Kendal dragged three suitcases in the door behind her along with a purse and a few shopping bags. "Here, take these over there." She pointed from me to a corner.
For once I was the speechless one. She grabbed her phone and started scrolling through something- it looked like Instagram. I hauled her bags to where she instructed.
"So." I said. "Anyone wanna go get lunch?"
