-Chapter 2-
The rest of the morning was uneventful, the teachers were bland and the classes were even more bland. I had five classes with Marie, but she walked me to all of them anyways, knowing I'd probably get lost.
When the lunch bell rang, Marie immediately pulled me roughly to the cafeteria. "I have to go to my locker really quickly, wait here." Without waiting for me to answer, she disappeared into the crowd.
Shuffling my feet nervously, I leaned up against the nearest locker to wait for her.
"Ah-hem." A voice next to my ear made me jump. I looked up slowly. I gulped nervously as my eyes brushed up the person's body. I salivated at the long legs clad in tan khaki's, a tight blue v-neck proudly displaying a toned stomach and a six pack of abs, broad shoulders, and a perfectly sculpted face.
Logan peered down at me, and his eyes sparkling and a cocky sneer plastered across his face. As we stared at each other in silence, a painful and angry look overtook his glimmering eyes.
He lightly ran his fingertips up my arm, stopping at my shirt sleeve. His touch left a trail of tingling and made my stomach clench in response. I panicked, staring up at him with wide eyes. He slowly bent down to my level and moved his face towards mine. I felt his hot, sweet breath brush over my cheek and I felt my breathing hitch and my heart rate rise in response.
"Why don't you ditch these people and come spend lunch with me?" His lips lightly caressed my ear and I struggled to breathe as his masculine scent invaded my nose. His body was close to mine, and my chest pushed against his lightly.
I jumped when he left a light kiss on my earlobe and pushed his body close to mine, pushing my back up against the cold metal lockers. He traced his lips down my ear to the side of my neck and I whimpered slightly at the burning want they left behind. He grabbed my slender wrists in his strong, masculine hands and lightly rubbed the tender inside of my wrist with his rough thumb.
"Excuse me, Grace is not available at the moment, please leave a message at the beep. Beep!" A familiar hand reached between me and Logan and yanked me sideways from his grip. Logan glared down at Marie and started to protest.
Without a word or a backwards glance, Marie pulled into the crowded cafeteria and led me to a table. I recognized Elizabeth and Lynn from first period, but the rest of the people were complete strangers.
"This is Vincent, Elizabeth's boyfriend." Marie gestured towards the boy sitting beside Elizabeth. The boy was smiling warmly down at Elizabeth and glanced up offer me a brief wave. He had short, chopped hair and a kind face. Elizabeth was sitting against him chatting with Lynn while he held her securely against him with his arm around her waist.
I smiled internally at their affection and turned back to Marie.
"You know Lynn," she spoke, running her eyes in order down the table of people before slouching next to Elizabeth. I sat down next to Marie, putting my head in my arms on the table.
After a few moments of silence, I felt burning a pair of eyes on me and raised my head slowly. Everyone at the table was holding avid conversations, unintentionally excluding me. I felt someone slid into the seat next to me and I shifted over without a glance. The day was halfway over but nothing about this school made me feel comfortable. All I wanted to do was slink home, take off my pants, curl up in a tight ball and sleep for the rest of my life.
"Grace. It was rude to leave without a proper goodbye." A velvet voice brushed against my ear. I shivered silently, his low voice made me feel warm and slightly tingly. I ignored him and slammed my head back into my arms on the table with a huff of annoyance. I felt Logan's hand rest gently on my knee. I stiffened as his fingers gently traced a path up to my thigh. His hand trailed closer and closer to my inner thigh, and I clenched the table with shaking fingers, resisting the urge to moan at the heat his touch brought. His hand abruptly squeezed my upper thigh hard, sending pleasantly painful jolts up my body. With a jolt, I yelped loudly and let out a small laugh before falling backwards off my seat. I grunted in pain as my back slammed hard on the linoleum floor, my spine tightening in protest. A hand shot out from above me, and I immediately reached up for it, rubbing my back with a scowl. As soon as I touched the hand, I released it, falling back to the floor. I grumbled, getting up myself, ignoring Logan's hand. "I hate being tickled." I scowled, informing anyone who was listening.
As I looked around the cafeteria, everyone was deathly silent. No one was laughing, they all stared at Logan. The look on his face scared the crap out of me, and apparently the whole cafeteria felt the same way. I suddenly felt incredibly embarrassed, and angry as hell. I sniffled, unfortunately I seem to cry every time I get angry, which is a lot.
Logan grabbed me by my forearm and pulled me up, not roughly, but enough to make me even more pissed. "Jerk!" I screamed, pushed him away and ran to the library. I stopped running when I got out of the hallway lunchroom and wiped the angry tears from my eyes.
-OoOoO-
Silently praising myself for knowing where the library was, I sat in an empty beanbag chair near the window.
"Excuse me." a soft voice came from next to me. "What." I barked, turning to look at the person who dared talk to me after everyone had just laughed at me. "Well you look kind of lonely, so I wanted to talk to you." a boy who was in my science class explained, unembarrassed. The guy was HOT. He had long brownish-black hair, emo style, and scorching green eyes.
"My name's Storm" he said, extending his hand. I shook it warily. "...and I can I help you with something?" I asked confused. Storm just stared at me with a piercing gaze. "Ummm..." I replied awkwardly, sighing with relief when Marie burst through the double doors, knocking into Storm's muscled back.
"Oof" she said, flying across the room and sprawling across my legs. "Wow Marie, no need to fall at my feet..." I laughed, breaking the awkward silence. "Hi Storm." Marie said, implying he should leave. "Marie." he said grudgingly. "Ehhem..." Marie said, glaring a hole in Storm's chiseled face. "Well I guess I'll just leave then..." Storm said, looking longingly at me, clearly joking, but either way it made Marie angry. She snorted, huffed and tapped her foot. Storm walked over to me, lazily and slowly, pulled me put of the beanbag and onto my feet, and gave me a tight bear hug. "Mmfhh" I got out, squished into his muscled chest. Marie growled loudly and stomped on Storm's shoe. Hard. But he barely even flinched. "Bye Grace" he said, leaving the room with a wave of his fingers.
"Uhh..." I looked at Marie like 'what the hell was that?' She glared at nothing in particular and grabbed my arm. "What-?" She pulled me back into the cafeteria. Logan was waiting at the door. He looked at Marie with his head high and she lowered hers. Silently letting go of my arm, she pushed me into him and walked away. Logan stared at me for a second without saying anything. "Well if you'll just excuse me..." I said, squirming in his grasp. He tightened his hand on mine and pulled me roughly to his table. He sat me down next to him, too close for comfort.
"Matt" he ordered, and a blond boy with green eyes and a 6-pack stood up. "Hello Grace, I'm Matt, and this is our pack of friends" Matt extended his hand, but Logan gave a low growl and Matt withdrew his hand. "Hannah" he said, and a girl with long light brown hair stood up. She waved and took one of her earphones out of her ear. "Evan" a small freshman with a buzz cut stood up. When he thought Logan wasn't looking, he winked. Immediately, Logan stiffened and glared at him. Evan sat back down. "Tiffany" another freshman stood up. She had brown hair and was wearing Abercrombie. "Tiffany, Marie, and Leo are brothers and sisters."
Tiffany jumped on me, hugging me viscously. "You're so pretty! Oh my gosh!" she whispered in my ear. "I'm so jealous! Logan is soo hot. And he's alpha too!" Tiffany jumped off of me, looking guiltily at Logan. Logan looked like he was going to pop at any second. "Harold." a hot guy with brown hair and blond streaks stood up. He was wearing a pink collared shirt and khaki cargo pants.
"Hey babe." he said, sounding straight as a circle. I looked at Logan, wondering if he was going to freak out again, but he was in a heated conversation with Matt. Harold grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the cafeteria and to the bathroom. "Babe, I need to fix your makeup." I looked at myself in the mirror. Wavy naturally reddish-brown hair, green eyes, pale skin, no makeup except mascara. "Harold..." "Yes ma'am?" "How are you in the girl's bathroom?"
Harold threw his head back and chortled. "Babe, look at me. Do I look like I'm going to bother any girl in here?" I giggled; he did look like he enjoyed boys more than girls. Smoothing my hair into a single braid in back, he put my bangs to the side and stared intensely into the mirror. "Girl, you are soo lucky." Harold exclaimed suddenly, pulling me from the bathroom and back into the cafeteria. "Whaa-" the bell cut off my sentence and I was snapped up and whisked to my next class by Marie and Elisabeth.
