David opened the window of his luxurious Ferrari just as we left. It was so nice that, unlike my car, you can see through the windows and his car didn't smells like rotten hamburgers.
"I heard New York is a nice place," I said.
"Yeah. It is," David responded. "So, what station do you like."
"What?"
"What radio station," he asked. "Do you listen to the radio."
"Yeah. Um, channel 104.3... it should be classic rock," I said.
After driving in the van for a while, we finally pulled over into a parking lot. David led me inside the building that turned out to be a restaurant.
We ordered a table for two, and were immediately seated at a table at the other end of the restaurant.
"What to order," David said, as a waiter brought us a menu. "Can I get you to anything to start?" she asked.
"Water is fine," David said as the waiter left.
"So..." I managed to say. "The club sandwich looks good."
He looks down at his menu. "Actually, I've never tried that before," David said. "But you should get it."
When the waiter came back for our order, we told her what we wanted and she wrote it down.
Then again, there was complete silence when the waiter left.
"Did you watch the school play I was starring in?" I asked David.
"Which one was it... umm... The Wizard of Oz?" he replied.
"Yeah," I said. I watched people eating there fancy meals which made me more hungry.
When the waiter finally came back with our meal, I devoured it down quickly.
We were driving for a while when we pulled over at a building that looked like a hotel.
David got out of the van and I followed him. He liked his car and entered the building.
"Hi. I've ordered a room for Jennifer Adams," David said to the employee at the entrance.
The employee looked on her computer for a while.
"Fourth floor, room 419," she said, handing me a key card. I grabbed my luggage and the key, and headed towards the elevator.
David waved to me before leaving the hotel.
I pushed the 'Up' button and waited for the elevator to come.
I pushed the '4' button and the elevator doors closed.
"Hi," I said to the man standing beside me. He quietly nodded to me.
I finally reached my floor, dragging my luggage behind me as I left the elevator. I looked at each door number and found mine.
I held the key card and tried to unlock the door. It didn't work.
I tried again. Nothing.
I was going to try again when I realized I was doing it wrong. I watched a lady was getting into her room and copied what she did. The door finally unlocked.
"It's about time," I mumbled.
When I closed my door, I realized two young boys were watching me the whole time.
Awkward, I thought as I entered my room.
"Do I have the right room," I said in awe. The room was perfect: a queen sized pink bed, huge windows with golden coloured curtains, a chandelier above a glass table in the living room area, a TV, and non broken walls and floors.
I sat on my bed and began to unpack when I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in," I said as a maid entered my room with a fancy dinner with water.
"Um... I didn't order this," I said as she put the meal on the glass table.
"We serve you dinner," the maid replied. "You don't have to order it." With that, she left.
Even though I wasn't hungry, the meal looked so good that I had to eat it now. I devoured part of the lasagna and small salad that came with it.
I was so tired today that I couldn't finish my food without falling asleep on my bed.
