I woke up as a ray of sunlight flooded through my window and into my bedroom.
I was excited, but nervous because today was the auditions for our school play: The Wizard of Oz!
I came into the kitchen where mom was making my sister's lunch.
"Bye sweetie. Good luck on your audition," she said handing me my lunch.
"Wait. How did you know I was auditioning?" I said, putting my lunch into my school bag.
Well I may or may not have heard you rehearse your lines," my mom said, with a huge smile on her face. That look made me feel better.
I couldn't focus during any of my classes, even Art which is my favourite class. Art seems to calm me down and helps me plan things out. But today I couldn't do anything. I was to nervous for the audition. I love acting and I want to pursue that dream, so I really hope I get a role in the play.
Just as I know it, it was already 3:00. Auditions were at 3:30, so I got to the gym as fast as I could. Luckily, I made it on time. Although, someone came late and was immediately cut and couldn't audition, which made me even more nervous.
"Jennifer Adams." I walked to the front of the stage. The teachers in charge welcomed me and asked me which part I was auditioning for. When I said, "Dorothy," they requested that I read a few lines for the role.
"It really was no miracle," I said dramatically. "What happened was just this..."

A few minutes later, my audition was done, and the teachers told me that the cast list would be posted tomorrow.
When I went to bed, I couldn't stop thinking about the auditions. One role might change my life.
The next day, I was congratulated by many people which made me wonder if I got the role.
I ran up to list with the parts I realized I got a part in the play!
"Congrats, Dorothy." I spun around to see Matty standing behind me.
"Thanks," I reply. "And I see you are.." I squint at the list. "The tin man."
"Yeah, I know," he said. "We'll at least we'll be acting together," I said, blushing a little.
When Matty left, I looked at the rest of the list and realized that Brianna King got a role as the wicked witch. Suits her, I thought.
The minute I entered my house, I saw an old "Congradulations" banner, and cupcakes on the kitchen table. I went to take one of the cupcakes when my Juliet and my mom jumped out from behind the kitchen table and yelled "Congradulations!"
I was touched. "Have a cupcake," said Juliet, as I took one from the table.
"You even added sprinkles?"I asked her as I took a bite.
"No. That's mold." Instantly, I spit out what I was about to swallow.
"We haven't been shopping since...you know."
I understood what she meant. "Well, I made a salad," my mom said, putting the bowl on the table.
"What part did you get," my mom said, as began eating.
"I'm playing...Dorothy!"
"I'm so proud of you." Juliet and my mom came up to me and gave me a huge hug.
We finished our dinner and I went to my room to rehearse my lines. The play was in four weeks, so I should probably start rehearsing now.
I was just about to warm up, when Juliet came into the room.
"Can you help me organize my room," she asked.
"No."
"How about you read me a story like you used to," she asked again.
"I said no. Now go away so I can rehearse my lines." At that, Juliet left the room, in tears.
Although, the minute she left, I went to get my script to practice my lines, but it was gone. I began to panic, searching my whole bedroom. But it wasn't there, which made me even more nervous than I already was.
