When he's sick

Leo's POV

I awoke this morning with an unpleasant feeling. As my mind cleared the fog of sleep, I became aware that my stomach ached terribly, it was a yucky feeling in general. I moaned softly, and buried my head deeper into my pillow. I had hoped it was just temporary, and willed it would go away soon. I couldn't think of anything I'd eaten the night before to cause this. Maybe it was a virus, tough I hoped it wasn't that either.

Whatever the case, I was now stuck with dealing with the consequences, and not much later, I found myself unwillingly jumping out of bed and running to the bathroom hovering over the toilet bowl, bringing up the dinner i had last night and whatever else I ate. I gagged on the after taste of bile and spat into the toilet. God I hate throwing up. The feeling of my insides being turned inside out. Needless to say it also had the tendency to go up my nose. I blew my nose and flushed the toilet. I then went over to the sink to rinse my mouth out and splash water on my face, which felt a little refreshing after just hurling for ten minutes. When I finished, I headed to the kitchen to make a cup of peppermint tea to help settle my stomach. I was still feeling a bit nauseous.

My Dad and brothers were beginning to stir by now, I was always the first one up and I had hoped to relax before the day started in full swing. By the time I sat down with my tea, Donnie came in and groggily started making the coffee. I sipped slowly at the warm herbal liquid, pausing between each swallow to test if my stomach would rebel, so far it seemed okay. 

"Good morning Leo." he greeted me as he stretched his arms.

"Mornin Don. You sleep okay"

Don began to hunt for the breakfast pop tarts in the pantry as he replied. "Eh, could've used a couple more hours, but I'll survive."

I frowned and set my cup down. "If you wouldn't stay up so late on the computer, you would get more sleep"

"Yeah I know." Don shrugged, still searching through the pantry. 

Leo's attention was diverted by the sound of his youngest brother suddenly screaming it terror mixed with laughter, followed by the angry roar of his other temperamental brother.

"I'm gonna kill ya Mikey!" Raph yelled.

"Ya gotta catch me first brah!" Came Mikey's giggling reply.

I them become aware Don had joined me at the table with a pop tart and a mug of coffee. He sighed.

"Oh, whats with those two first thing in the morning?!"

I groaned.

All I knew was that everytime my brothers got into a fight, I am always the one that has to break it up. Which would always turn into an argument between me and  Raphael, and I didn't want to go through that today. My stomach lurched at the thought, and i felt the nausea returning in full force. I swallowed hard against the taste of bile creeping up and started sipping my tea again. I guess Don noticed I wasn't really acting like myself.

"Leo are you okay?" He asked concerned.

I looked up at him for a moment and tried to smile. "It's nothing"

"You look a little pale...and is that peppermint tea?"

"I just have an upset stomach Don, no big deal."

Donnie set down his coffee and looked at me sternly. "I know you Leo...you pretend that you're okay when your really not."

"It's fine Donnie, I'm sure it will pass over. It'll get better as the day goes on."

The tea was working once more to calm my stomach, and i did feel better. Though as the morning went on, it became clear it was gonna get worse before it got better. When I finally did find out what happened between my brothers it went exactly as I predicted and ended up in and argument with Raph's continuous threat shouting. Once it was over, Raph stormed into his room and I again felt the nausea building up. I quickly ran to the bathroom and once again emptied my insides out. 

I wished my sweet (Y/N) was with me. All I wanted was to have her company, snuggling close next to her, breathing in her sweet aroma that always emanated off of her. She always new how to lift my spirits when I'm in a hard time, making me feel better. All of my attention would be focused on her and not my aching stomach. Oh, God how much I wanted her here, but I was also afraid of getting her sick as well, I didn't want that. But I feel crappy and alone without her, I needed her, nothing would make me feel better at this point.

Your POV

I was walking back from work and decide to pay the guys a visit on the way home. I popped open the nearest manhole cover and crawled down inside.

As I made my way down the sewer tunnels and found my way into the lair, I could tell it was quieter than usual, normally they'd be doing their early morning training by now. I expected to hear them in the dojo or something. But when I entered, everyone was mopping around the lair doing their own thing, and there wa no sign of Leo. I went into the dojo and saw Master Splinter meditating, surely he know what was going on.

"Um...Master Splinter?..." I asked peaking my head inside the door.

The old rat turned his head in my direction and opened on eye. He quickly got up and happily greeted me.

"Ah, (Y/N). I wasn't expecting you hear today, but welcome." Ha said taking my hand.

I shrugged, "Oh, I just figured I'd pay you guys a visit before I want home from work. So what's up with everyone today?"

Master Splinter's smile turned into a concerned frown. "Leonardo isn't well today, so I gave the boys a break until he feels well enough to join us."

I gasped to myself, that's why I didn't see him in the lair. That goof! Why didn't he say anything? He could've texted me!

"Thanks Sensei, I'll go see if Leonardo would like some company." I said as I gave a slight bow to Splinter and just before I rush into my boyfriends room and saw Leo, looking pale and miserable under his covers. I sighed to myself and looked at him with pity as I went up to sit at the edge of his hammock-bed, accidentally startling him by the sudden rocking. He looked up at me with heavy, half opened eyes and weakly smiled at me.

"Hey sicky..." I teased, "How ya feeling?"

Leo moaned as he tried to sit up. "Well, I did feel like shit until you cam in." He said tiredly.

I smiled, "Whats wrong babe?"

Leo lowered his head. "It's nothing, just an upset stomach, I'll be alright." he replied, trying to downplay his illness, but I knew better.

I gave him a quizzical look. "You sure, cause I know you, you pretend everything's okay...when it's really not."

Leo laughed hoarsely. "That's just what Donnie said to me this morning"

I snorted, "Well, he's not wrong."

He chuckled, "I'm fine (Y/N), really. You worry too much."

"Okay, 1: I'm your girlfriend, its my job to worry and 2: I don't believe you."

Before Leo could stop me, I was already in the kitchen in search of some tylenol and a hot water bottle. I pour Leo a glass of water from the sink with the pills and fill the hot water bottle with...well, hot water. I came back into his room to see him with a pouty face and his arms crossed.

"You know you don't have to do this fore me honey."

"Shush!" I quickly silence him, making him blink. "I know I didn't have to, I wanted to...now here!" I say handing him the pills and water.

He sighed heavily before reluctantly swallowing the pills and I handed him the hot water bottle to place on his firm stomach. He fell back in his bed with a long moan.

"Aw, my poor Blue." I cooed and kissed him on the forehead. His smile brightened.

"Thanks babe...maybe if i feel better later, we can cuddle?" He asked sheepishly. 

He looked up at me with that puppy face that I could never resist. Oooh! He knows how to get to me! I just giggle, "We'll see baby..."

OMG! I'm sooo sorry it took so long for me to update! I got caught up in other things and some of my other books. School started Tuesday so now that's gonna eat into my time, so my updates might be a little slow. Next chapter will be up soon though, its the aftermath of this chapter. What happens when you get sick? We'll find out. Again, sorry it took forever!!!
