Featherfriend was just laying down for the night when she heard Starcharm's roars. She jumped up and leaped into the air. It was easy to find her friend, all she had to was follow the roars and look for blasts of fire here and there. By the time Featherfriend reached her, Starcharm had made it to the edge of the mountains. To the edge of wyvern territory. She sped down next to her. "Starcharm! Stop! That's wyvern territory!" She yelled. Starcharm didn't listen. She twisted around and slashed at Featherfriend's wing, but didn't hit her target. Phew.
Featherfriend swooped around and grabbed the dragon's horns, trying to pull her back. She let out a loud caw to tell Starcharm that she wasn't giving up. With a furious roar, she threw Featherfriend off and dashed into the mountains. The chase continued for another hour. Finally they stopped at the bottom of a canyon.
Featherfriend tackled Starcharm's head, beating it with her wings. "Okay! Okay! I'm good! I'm good!" She yelled franticly over the beating of wings. Both of the animals sat up, gasping for air. "Well, that was a workout." Featherfriend said. She looked up to see Starcharm crying. "Empty's.....gone." She murmured. Empty's gone."
Featherfriend stared at her. "Wha-" was all she managed to say be fore Starcharm cut her off. "Let's go home." As they stood up to leave, a gravely voice came from behind them. "Oh, that won't be necessary."
Starcharm's heart beat rapidly. The two friends turned around. Behind them were six full-grown male wyverns.
