The following weeks were perhaps the best weeks of my life. No new emotions kicked in, the nightmares subsided, and Brianne and I grew closer and closer. In two days, it would be time for me to take another refill of Happiness, and nothing would make me do that.

I grew tired and decided to go to bed. Recently, I had been having dreams of Brianne and I doing unthinkable things, those were the best dreams. I shut my eyes and thought of her until I became unconscious.

“Hello!” That familiar deep voice yelled. “Welcome everybody to Vial Inc.’s new attraction, the Emotion Coaster!”

I opened my eyes and Caesar Macklin stood to the right of me in his glaring, white suit. I was the only person in a wooden coaster cart, which stood on wobbly tracks.

“Please remember to keep all hands and legs inside the vehicle at all times, and have a great time!”

Caesar pulled a level to his left, and I was moving. The cart began ascending up the wooden tracks, I did not know where I was, and everything else was darkness.

“As we ascend,” Caesar’s voice continued. “Enjoy our society’s beautiful emotions. Each one contributes to what we all wish to feel, happiness.” The darkness transformed into a blue sky, with birds flying by. I looked down and saw people below walking around. There was a Ferris wheel across the blue lake. It was your typical amusement park.

The roller coaster reached the top of its climb, I looked forward and saw that the coaster would swoop down and curl around the beautiful scenery, I was excited.

“Uh oh!” Caesar yelled, “Looks like we are having some technical difficulties here!” Flames began to engulf the gorgeous park, and the mild temperature soared. The even roller coaster tracks began to loop around.

“It looks like you’ll have to face some unacceptable emotions…” Caesar began to laugh. The roller coaster cart suddenly swerved forward and I was flying at an intense speed. I held onto the safety bar for dear life.

The flames began following the cart as I was brought upside down multiple times. The sky began to grow dark again. Thankfully the finish was in sight.

Suddenly, the tracks far in front of me started to fall apart, I was heading towards them full force. As much as I tried to stop the cart, it was useless. When the cart approached the dead end, my seat belt gave in and I was flung into the flames.

Smoke infested my lungs and I could not breathe. My skin began to char and my hair fell from my head. Caesar was in the distance, laughing menacingly.

The flames vanished and everything returned to darkness. Caesar walked up to me, he was still dressed in peaceful white, while I was the color of a shadow.

“Why is this happening?” I cried out.

“It’s just a warning, my boy.”

            “I did nothing wrong.”

“You wronged me, and because you wronged me, you will pay.” Caesar slowly faded into the darkness, and I was left there, alone, with no one but myself.
