With everyone back at school now, lessons had started again. Taylor was in her classroom frantically planning her lesson. She hadn't done it yet because her and Karlie had been inseparable and every time she tried to work Karlie was always there to distract her.

That brings her to know, ten minutes before the bell, planning the whole lesson. With so little time, all the teacher could think of was getting the class to share their stories from the Christmas holidays. She decided they wouldn't continue with their controlled assessment until she had time to plan a proper lesson. One this short notice would be useless to them so why not give the students a lesson to ease them back into work. It was the first lesson of the year after all.

The teacher's bruises had cleared up by now but her neck still hurt. Karlie wanted her to go to hospital to get checked out but Taylor didn't want the hassle, she would prefer to leave Emily in her past from now on but she still woke up in cold sweats reliving the moment some nights.

For her first day back at teaching Taylor wore a black dress covered in white polka dots. The dress had long sleeves that Taylor had rolled up to three-quarter lengths and it came down to her mid-thigh. She also had a brown belt around her waist. Her makeup was simplistic and she had a light pink shade of lipstick on. The 23-year old had an ulterior motive of impressing one particular student.

The bell rings and her class start piling into the classroom talking animatedly about their breaks, no doubt. Karlie walks in talking to Cara and the couple share a smile as they catch each other's eye before Karlie goes back to talking with her friend.

As the class take their seats, Taylor starts the lesson. "Alright class, welcome back. Did you all have a good break?", she asks in high spirits.

The group of students reply with a unanimous chorus of "Yes miss".

"So today I thought it would be nice to do something with a bit less work than usual to ease us all back into the new term. I was hoping a few of you would want to share some stories about your Christmas. Funny stories, sad stories, whatever you want. The aim is to make the rest of us feel an emotion and to engage the audience. Now, who wants to go first?".

Cara's hand shoots up before anyone else even has a chance to process their teacher's words, "Please me miss!". Karlie shakes her head at her best friend's actions.

"Go ahead Cara", Taylor encourages.

Cara stands up and walks to the front whilst the teacher sits back in her chair behind her desk.

"Before I start, I must say you look very nice today miss", Cara beams.

"Thank you Cara, now what's your story", she smiles. It was a usual occurrence for Cara to openly hit on Taylor. The class where used to her antics by now.

Cara goes on to tell her class the story of her cat jumping into their 6ft Christmas tree, making it topple over in vivid detail. It turned out that the tree had fallen onto a shelf holding ornaments and that they had all smashed on the floor. By the end the whole room is in stitches and Cara goes to sit back at her desk next to Karlie with a huge grin.

As the next two students tell their stories Taylor walks around the classroom. Passing Karlie's desk, she places a folded up note in front of her girlfriend. The action goes unnoticed by everyone else who were too engrossed in Jourdan's story to notice.

Karlie opens the note underneath the table. It reads: Make sure you're in your room after dinner at 6. I love you xx

From her desk a few metres away Taylor watches the taller girl open the note and read it and it warms her heart when she sees Karlie start smiling. The girl looks up searching for Taylor and when her eyes finally meet blue she mouths the words, 'I love you too'.
