First Doctors Appointment

This was it. Your first doctors appointment to check up on your baby,Your baby, you still can't believe it

It had been a week before your regular doctor could get you in, and you were ecstatic when the day finally came

"Are you ready love?" Lauren said walking down the steps and into the living room, adjusting her red flannel, before grabbing your purse, you nodded and headed towards the door

"Got everything?" You asked looking around, not even sure what you were exactly looking for, making Lauren smile at your nervousness and grab your hand gently pulling you close to her "Mhmm, let's go"

The car ride to the doctors office was mostly quiet, the only time Lauren ever spoke was to tell you how happy and excited she was, and that absolutely made your heart melt into a million pieces

The only other noise in the car was Laurens latest The 1975 CD playing at a low volume, while you looked out the window, humming parts of the song you happened to know

When you finally arrived to the doctors, Lauren helped you out of the car, and squeezed your hand when you reached the front door "Mommy and baby first" Lauren said opening the front door, making you giggle softly

You both walked up to the front desk "Um we have an appointment for Y/N Jauregui, right? Yeah yeah that's what I put down" Lauren said nervously, while writing your name down on the check in list

The nurse smiled lovingly at Lauren, sensing her nervous "That's right! Now just follow me and your doctor will be with you shortly" The nurse stated, leading you to a room in the back.

When you got comfortable on the bed in your room, the Doctor entered with a smile on his face, and a clipboard in hand, he was and an older gentleman, maybe in his late 40s or early 50s

"Ah the Jaureguis! My favorite patients! How are you?" He said sitting on his stool beside your bed and the large computer like thing surrounded by a bunch of wires

"We've been good Dr.Coleman, adding a new addition to the family" you said smiling wide, the man smiled back, turning on the computer screen while grabbing a bottle of what seemed like a gel "Congratulations to the both of you, you will both be fantastic parents!"

You and Lauren smiled and thanked him in sync, making him chuckle "Now Miss Y/N I need you to raise your shirt just above your stomach for me" You did as he told, knowing what was about to happen "That gel stuffs gonna be cold isn't it? That's what everyone says on the TV shows!" you exclaimed making your doctor and Lauren laugh

"Yes it will, but it doesn't last long" he said squriting the cold, clear gel onto your stomach, making you jump a little, in surprise, who knew it was that cold

"Now when I put this on your stomach, you'll be able to see and hear the heartbeat of your baby!" He said happily, putting, what resembled a remote type thing on your stomach, and then there it was, well you hoped it was there, considering you couldn't see what the doctor was smiling about, but there was something strange

you heard three heartbeats, not two

"Well look what we have here" he said stopping his hand movements in the middle of your stomach, and using his free hand to point to your screen, he pointed to what looked like a small little blob, but, there was two of them

Lauren squeezed your hand, seeing exactly what you were seeing "Looks like you're having twins! Congratulations!" You swear in that moment your heart stopped two children...twins

"A-Are you sure?" You asked, sitting up a bit, as the doctor put up his tool and switiced the monitor off, and handed you a papertowel to clean the gel of your stomach "I'm 100 percent postive! Two heartbeats, two circles in the ultrasound, you're having twins Miss Y/N" he said taking off his gloves and placing them in the trashcan

"Would you like an ultrasound photo?" You were in too much shock to answer, so Lauren snapped out of her, what seemed like a daze, and answered for you "Yes yes, please, thank you" Dr.Coleman nodded, opening the door

"You can go to the front desk and check out, the nurse will give you the photograph, and can answer any more questions you may have" he smiled, stepping outside the door "I wish you the best Mrs and Mrs. Jauregui"

And with that, he shut the door, leaving you and Lauren in silence together

After what seemed like hours, Lauren finally spoke up "This is amazing Y/N, we're.....we're having twins!" She stood, walking in front of you, holding your hand in hers, kissing the top of your hand softly, you still couldn't believe this was happening, you were scared enough when you thought you were having one baby, but two? With Laurens busy schedule and her being gone all the time, how could you do this?

Lauren noticed your anxiousness, she cupped your face softly, rubbing her thumbs softly over your cheeks "This is going to wonderful darling, sure it'll be hectic at times, and stressful, but it'll be worth it, to have our own family, sure we won't be perfect parents, no one is, but we'll be happy"

She kissed you softly, when she pulled away, you felt hot tears on your cheeks, you were crying, you both were, but not with sorrow, with happiness

"I love you Lauren" you said as you stood, wiping your eyes with your left hand, and holding Laurens hand with your right, she smiled, kissing the side of your head "I love you too Y/N, and our happy family"
